there again.It is not kid friendly. - We had a nice weekend @ Albany hotel together with my friends. The positive thing is transport is just near meaning local taxis without a hassle in just few seconds. The friendly staff of Albany hotel always available to assist with a smile. The other thing is it's secure because the security is always around 24/7 and all this services @ an affordable price. Will definitely book @ Albany again. Keep up the good work!!

Manaar House is definitely one of the best places to stay in Durban/Umhlanga. We stayed there for three nights in the self Catering Apartment. As a couple with young kids, it was an absolute dream staying at Manaar House as it was so kid friendly that our kids did not want to go out because of the toys provided in our section of the house! They had so much fun & were so comfortable and as parents, that mattered most to us. The views from the kids rooms were phenomenal & they absolutely loved it!

The total experience, but primarily the rewriting of history. The colonial history of the hotel is abundantly clear in its incredible collection of wooden furniture, tap crowns, low door handles, etc. However, it reflects a poetic irony in the Madiba art collection and his inspiring words in his own handwriting, and the "new" queen of the castle halfway up the majestic stair case. John and Cathy were fantastic hosts who were always available and offered superb recommendations when our plans were abruptly on hold.
Location is superb, but would advise hiring a car to keep things easy, breakfasts and johns stories are worth the cash alone.
Overall great value, in a great location and we can't wait to return. Jo and I felt at home from the off thanks to John and Cathy.

The hotel is very central and is quite lovely. It has everything that
you need. The view is absolutely stunning. It is close to Ushaka and the
Sun Coast Casino. If you do not want to use your car there are the
"People Mover" buses that you can travel on. The room was
pleasantly comfortable and quite spacious. The breakfast had a wonderful
selection to choose from.

The welcoming was good despite the fact that I arrived very late past check-in time. The elderly guys(managers) were very hospitable n friendly. The rooms were very clean, felt homely. Breakfast was lovely freshley prepared. I would definitely go back there some time in the near future.
