  We booked one night here before a domestic flight and it turned out to be one of the nicest places we booked in South Africa. Every single interaction with the owners and personnel was warm and respectful. The personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. We would recommend staying here after a flight or before a flight or even when visiting Jo'bur - Extremely welcoming and well organised. We had a late arrival and left very early. Pam organised a car to pick us at the airport and to bring us back there on the following day. The room was nice, very clean. Excellent way to spend the night when you have a connection at the OR Tambo airport. Far better than the hotels on the airport premises. Very friendly staff. We were pleased overall, thanks Pam.

  I was very well taken care of by the staff. I was in transit from Rwanda through Johannesburg to the USA. They picked me up from the airport, provided a room for the night and also gave me a day room. Meals were also available. The home has a family & homely ambiance and the atmosphere and surrounds is relaxing, almost as if you were in the countryside away from city life. We were unable to locate our luggage and Clive came to our rescue; it was quite an adventure! There is a wonderful pub area where one might enjoy an evening drink or opt to sit quietly by the pool. I would not hesitate to recommend Avon House! - Tthe owners welcomed us as they would a family. We were most comfortable in a room that was modern,clean, as well as having amenities. We had to be at the airport early in the morning and was provided not only with a lovely breakfast but also a snack for the plane. Many thanks to Christine an Clive!
