Staff were so friendly and helpful! they couldn't speak English fluently but they could understand enough for us to get our point across. This place is amazing if you have a room facing Mt. Fuji. The possibility to rent a bicycle to cycle around during the day (allowed until 6pm only) is a huge plus because there are so many sights and sounds to look out for.
Another huge plus is the fact that we had an on-site onsen (hot bath). It is very useful after a whole day of trekking around the place.

History, this hotel has been the same since 1930's where the Emperor of Japan stays there for his honeymoon before he started WWII. But the staffs were very helpful, although there were only 3 staffs to serve the entire hotel of 200 rooms, still they are very helpful.

People of the people are very nice even if they don't speak good English. They help us to find sightseeing spot and restaurant.
Hotel is at 15 min walk from the station but really close to the lake. -

This guesthouse is in a good location with peaceful surrounding with nice lake view perfect for those who don't want too much activities. It is clean and comfort and spacious. The owner (an elderly couple) is so friendly and prepare a wonderful homemade Japanese dishes.
