Loved the old historic building and location. Everyone was very nice.. I was a bit disappointed that internet access for my own device was an extra charge when it was no extra charge at all the other hotels we stayed at along our trip. Seemed weird we could pay less at a Days inn and still have free wi-fi. So weird. And then to hold our car in a parking garage was additional $40 a day. Seemed like maybe the were hurting for business but they weren'T. Lots of people there.

I liked the fact that it is an old hotel, which has a lot of class. I have been there before and with a city the size of LA, I feel comfortable with the location. I requested the highest floor possible and the quietest area and my requests were honored. The staff were very helpful and friendly as well a knowledgeable. The hotel had a really good "feel" to it and the rooms were excellent. Excellent gym too, one of the best that I have seen in a hotel....and I have been to many hotels. Checked in for two nights following a nineteen hour flight from New Zealand. Super friendly staff. Comfortable room. Great pool to splash around in. Thoroughly enjoyed the glamourous decor of the ground floor. Loved our stay. The hotel itself is an attraction. Although it is quite old, it is still quite clean. Besides, it is near the subway station and thereby the transportation is quite convenient. Love the hotel itself, it has beautiful architecture. Bartender was friendly as well as bell man and valet service. Nice rooms too. It was such a beautiful and historic facility and just across the street from bus stops. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Old-time ambiance, no "modernization" (ugh) of rooms, suites, and public areas. Excellent staff. Great location for my needs. Great history. Great atmosphere. For the rates being charged I thought they could do better and they did. Great wagyu burger downstairs even though they say it's kobe (real Kobe would have been like $300) . Comfy bed too!. Another thing I didn't like is that the concierge wasn't readily available and when you asked a question, the answer to me appeared vague. I only had breakfast there so couldn't really tell you about the standard of the food. No real negatives there. Coffee/tea facilities....tricky little set up to brew. Poly cups? Nespresso and china would have been great. The hotel is in downtown and therefore I'm really terrified when I walked along at night. There was no one else on the street. A woman at front desk was so rude to me and had an attitude when I explained my key would not open my room, she made me wait in a long line where guests were checking in to get a new key!!. We loved it all--no negatives. The "all day" room service menu has suddenly been restricted to 6-10 am and 5-11 pm! This is completely unacceptable. People stay in hotels like yours (I.E., multi-star) because they need full service, not when-we-feel-like-it service. If this doesn't change I will need to find another hotel. $40/Night is very steep for parking in la. Add the tip and you are out another few dollars. I fell in the shower. Big bruise, they need some traction put down in the tub..... Besides my sore butt, it was a great experience. No golf shirts with hotel logo. Can't think of anything~. - Feels litte old now, bathroom needs to be remodeled/updated a little - No light at the closet. wifi only free if you upgraded to Club Lounge and in the lounge, it should be free everywhere. Held a non smoking room but when arrived was told they only had smoking available. The club lounge idea needs to be re-thought. We were a family of four and only two of us were allowed to use it. That makes no sense. Either charge more for it or make it available to any and all people on the club level. Restaurant was very noisy, particularly downstairs. Needs acoustic treatment. At room , so bite my leg. too earlier cleaning. HIgh cost of overnight parking. No wifi. We just felt that the room's location was lackluster - no view at all (bad view). The hotel did not seem that full and I was surprised that we weren't given a room with a better view. It felt like we were given the room that they give to everyone who books at an inexpensive rate. I understand why they do that, but as the hotel was not full, I wish they would have amended their policy. It can be quite busy during the weekends which make retrieving your car from the valet only parking problematic. I waited a good half hour to get my car. No hot water the whole time we were there, parking is $40, took the server almost 40 min for 2 burgers then another 20min to track down my bill, and finally found someone else's nail clippings in the bed (yikes). Room given had very little light. Hotel was not full so better room was certainly available. Tv menue system sucks , its not that hard to get a system that works . Bathroom is small - no place to set toiletries and put on makup. Shower was either scalding hot or cold. Carpet and furnishings need updated. Cheap carpet and fabrics. The hotel is somewhat disheveled, services were so-so, is a relatively expensive hotel and did not give the feeling of getting ones money's worth compared to other Biltmore hotels in other cities. Room needs to be updated.
