This YHA is in the most amazing location next to the incredible Whitby Abbey. The property itself is very old and still maintains the charm and many features of its glory days. through out the stay very professional , welcoming .
The Hostel is in an outstanding location, good for parking,the building itself is full of history without being stuffy or pretentious. Also you get free entry to the Abby how brilliant is that!

Everything: the staff were very welcoming and so helpful: nothing was too much bother. The look of the hostel was more like that of a hotel than the stigma usually attached to hostels. Our first experience of a hostel ever & we have nothing but positive comments to give!! This is a hotel without the extras (I.e doesnt have a hairdryer/towels & a tv on the wall), other than that it does exactly what it says on the tin!! Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent value for money all round!!) Would definitely stay here again!

The Hostel was located near Nunnery Lane Car Park which was great
because I could leave my car overnight between 6pm to 8am the next
morning for just £2.This was important because I was leaving early next
am to drive to Castle Howard to work.

everything,from the warm welcome,taking care of our bags,being close to town,lovely room,nice and clean, comfy beds,brilliant breakfast,and secure place to keep our luggage so we could squeeze every last minute out of our holiday,and only five minute walk from railway station, and only a few feet away from the entrance to the medieval walls....altogether a brilliant place, a added bonus we loved was all the fun plaques outside each bedroom,it brought history alive.

Relaxed atmosphere, great breakfast,
room was clean with very good facilities, huge shower lots of tea and coffee etc, bed was comfy. Furniture was old fashioned but good quality and that was totally in keeping with the building, however the decor was modern, great mix and it worked!
Owner was very helpful giving loads of info about the surrounding area and things to do, great stay thanks.

me. The newly refurbished hostel is great with good economical breakfast
at 730am. The only other place that offered breakfast only serves at
930am. Hostel Reception is open only at 5 pm but you can just enter and
use the pantry , toilets and lounge -

New rooms were very comfortable although I miss the little reading room the open lobby is much more user friendly.

Loved the location!!! Couldnt be nearer to the beach if we'd tried :) Also loved how friendly everyone was - staff and other families. Lots of other kids around and safe enough to let them all run free like Swallows and Amazons. Also loved the fossil hunting! And piratey decor in the hostel, and the kids loved the quizzes and treasure hunts. Basic

This youth hostel is a fabulous converted old mill that is situated about two minutes from the beach. It is warm,cosy with lots of comfortable settees, amazing decor throughout and a wonderful bar,coffee area. The food is excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful that nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a brilliant weekend.Thankyou.

The YHA in Hawes is exceptional and so many friendly people stayed at the same time as myself and sisters. The area is stunning and it a great place to stay if you walking the Pennine Way. My sisters and I use the YHA whenever we are able and will continue to do so. Thank you, your GREAT! -

Staying in the camping pod was a great experience, close to nature but with a few creature comforts. They are roomier than I expected, and each has its own heater and bedside lamp; outside there is a light, picnic table and a brick for BBQing on.

Lovely old building, very open and stunning views. Clean, refurbished room (beautifully clean carpets, window seats in bedroom, beautiful wet-room) It made me feel like we could take our shoes off in the bedroom and walk around with bare feet!). We stayed in a dorm for 6 with en-suite.Beautiful cooked breakfast and very good evening meal. Very friendly young guy there who made us feel welcome. The pods were spotless, so maybe next-time!
