This was a perfect break. The staff are such a friendly team and really go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. The views out over the fells make you feel relaxed in the first 5 minutes. A tramp in the sun, a swim, a spell in the hot tub outside and then a good meal - what else could you want for your holiday? -

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was clean and spacious and the food was of very good quality. The all you can eat breakfast was suberb. A lovely setting overlooking the river. And very good value for money compared with other places that we looked at. Free car parking is a bonus too. We will definitely recommend The Riverside to frie

The Riverside is probably one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in in a long time, and certainly for the price. Excellent leisure facilities, excellent bar, staff were fabulous, rooms were clean and well stocked with anything you might need. I was on a work trip, but i'm seriously going back for another stay with the woman i love. Maybe even the wife.

the friendly nature of the hosts, the wonderful information they provided both in a written and verbal manner about the area and the breakfast - wonderful - The guest house was central to where we wanted to be. The friendliness of the owners. First impressions and facilities were excellent.

The staff were exceptional in every manner. Each one we spoke to were very polite and accomodating, especially when booking out as we were leaving at 6am the next morning and they prepared a fantastic breakfast which was delivered 30mins before we departed at 5:30am. The staff made us feel very welcome and worked very hard. after a long journey our exhaust bracket on car had snapped,while Gail showed us to our room Steve strapped exhaust up to get us home after our stay.

The breakfast was excellent and the waiter service first class. We found all staff very helpful and there to make our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly be visiting again very soon.

The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. Facilities were great - used the swimming pool every day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent quality food - booked bed and breakfast but after eating in on the 1st night didn't want to go anywhere else. - The Staff were always helpful, it was quiet and anice place to relax, and yet easy to travel to visit the area around.

janette and brian made our stay at the lakes special. we arrived to a big smile from janette and as it was our anniversary she left a card and chocolates for us which i thought was really lovely x x x the rooms were spotless and breakfast was to die for x janette and brian are so friendly and helpful i would recommend anyone to stay there x x x -

I have stayed at many B and Bs in this area and this surpasses the lot (and it's a lot cheaper than many of the others) Great location. - Great location. Safe and easy walk to both Windermere and Bowness. Food was unbelievable. Huge choice and excellent quality. Dining room is modern and there was a good atmosphere at breakfast time. Staff were efficient and friendly. Our budget room was clean and cofortable. Perfect for our stay. Limited parking on the premises but lots of free and unrestricted parkining across the road.
