The rooms were spotless!
The location was ideal for walking in the town of Ambleside and to get a boat ride to the other locations such as bowness.
The breakfast was wonderful and there was a wide variety of options to choose from.

The spotless room, it was ever so comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious! Plenty of choice. Ola and Peter were exceptionally friendly and cheerful and really made you feel welcome. Loved the complimentary bottle of water and biscuits that we received in our room on both days we stayed. Location is great, it is in walking distance of all the shops in Ambleside. We did a lovely walk to Grasmere while we stayed there. In the welcome book there's lots of suggested walks that you can do,

The Old School is the best accommodation we've ever experienced. The setting is terrific, between the mountains on one side and the sea on the other. It is within a short drive of Wasdale, so it was ideal for our hike up Scafell Pike.

Astonishing attention to detail. Superb service. Lesley is the most thoughtful host I've ever stayed with.
Rooms spotless and full of nice touches.
Bathroom was very well appointed with more towels than we could use. A variety of toiletries provided.
The four-poster bed overflowed with cushions. Chocolates, home made flapjack and banana liquor were in our room on arrival.
The chest of drawers in our room contained loads of walking guides.
Free bottles of water in the fridge outside our room.

The hosts Gerry & Trevor were very welcoming and always happy to help and advise on trips/days out/walks etc. offering plenty local knowledge which was very helpful. The whole B&B was spotlessly clean with added extras in the room eg bottled water, cotton buds, tissues. Breakfast offered a wide choice from fresh fruit and cereal to a full english and it was all fresh and delicious.

the hostress, Phillipa (hope I didn't wrongly spell her name) was very kind. She welcomed us with delicious tea and cookies, and provided us some milk and cereal when she heard we had to catch up an early train and would miss the breakfast - hmm, the breakfast was quite good here. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating.

We stayed in room 8 and it was just as amazing as the pictures we saw on here. Huge walk in shower and free standing bath tub. Very comfortable bed and astonishing view from the private balcony. Everything about the stay was delightful. From arriving with a warm welcome to recommendations for food that evening, Alex and Jeff were very helpful and polite in everything they did. One particular aspect that stands out in the breakfast, a stunning selection of everything you could ever wish for! Home made bread and scones with homemade jam, lovely! The room that me and my girlfriend stayed in was expected of somewhere of this calibre, very clean, very comfortable and a nice place to be. Ale

Upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner. The whole place was fantasticly decorated to a high standard. Very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Breakfast was nvery good and a nice choice to choose from. The few extra touches such as DVD tv and radio in the bathroom were appreciated too, just a pity we didn't bring a DVD to watch. Park

Bright, clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast and friendly host. This was our third visit to The Coach House. We keep coming back because its perfect for what we want from a short break. Great location for fantastic walks, close to both Bowness and Windermere for a choice of restaurants, shops and activities.
