The hotel is fantastic. The room was fab and the service by the staff was outstanding. As soon as you arrive you get a friendly face welcoming you and they are so helpful. All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. ... ce que les gens disent » election of bars and restaurants. - I liked the hotel room with balcony looking over Ambleside. Also we took full advantage of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter service first class. We found all staff very helpful and there to make our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly be visiting again very soon.

Everything! The staff were wonderful and the food excellent. - Felt more like a 4* plus hotel, not a 3. Nice details like great towels and fresh milk available for in-room coffee. Quality decor in room, nice bathroom too. Very convenient to town without being in it.

The room was recently and well-decorated with quality fittings including an ingenious blind. The service was very friendly - I was shown round the hotel and to my room. pampered. Fabulous bed. Huge bathroom with the best shower in Britain.
Dinner was delicious. Lots of soft armchairs to relax in before dinner.
You could open the windows and adjust the heating (to dry clothes in the
bathroom).

Ferndale Lodge had everything we needed for a good price. We stayed in their 'small double' room and it is definitely small! But it had a compact ensuite bath and wonderful views. Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights, 27th and 28th July.
Very clean comfortable room and bed, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. We would recommend this BnB to anyone visiting the Windermere Lake. Just a short stroll into the town of Ambleside and 1 mile to the Lake.

A very warm, clean and well equipped room. We brought our 'well-behaved' spaniel who loved the guesthouse and our host.
The cooked breakfast was excellant.
We were warmly welcomed, well fed and very well look after during our stay. We loved it!
And excellant value for money as well.

I loved the location, I loved the b&b, we had everything we needed
and more. Gorgeous young family running fell view, cutest kids, 3 little
girls. Didnt hear them once whilst in our room, was embarassed, my one
yr old daughter was noisier.

Simon and Lisa were wonderful hosts and took care of every need. The room was lovely, spacious and had every amenity. We especially enjoyed the fancy coffee machine just outside the room and the free parking space they offered, as parking in Ambleside comes at a premium. It's merely steps away from all shops and restaurants. A huge bowl of fruit, plenty of brochures and a fridge waited for us in our cozy breakfast nook. Our 3 days there were just lovely.
