  From the welcoming tea and cake to a heartfelt goodbye from Tim, one of the two owners - more like hosts than proprietors - everything was first rate. The superior room we booked overlooked gardens and a park which we could view from the large windows or from the deck attached to the room. If going to the Lakes, forget about Windermere - We stayed in room 8 and it was just as amazing as the pictures we saw on here. Huge walk in shower and free standing bath tub. Very comfortable bed and astonishing view from the private balcony. Tim and his staff were very welcoming and attentive. Jake the dog was adorable.   This boutique hotel is one of the best we have stayed in. It was an excellent blend of intimacy, privacy, utter quality, and yet neither snobbish or fussy. The restaurant meal was of an excellent quality which far exceeded our expectations. The location and views were magnificent.
