  After a week in Norway going through the fjords by car ( much more scenic than by boat and not as cold ! ) we experienced three " historic hotels " the Ullensvang, the Kviknes and the Union. Of the three , the Union is the only one which is a real historic hotel. The Ullensvang is very good , has existed for years but is a brand new building. We caught some fish and they cooked it for us, so we didn't have what was on the menu, but if our dinner is anything to go by they really know what they are doing! Highly recommend.

Some of the ones on the top floor have a good view over the fjord. Good library for the avid reader - including English books, a rarity in Norwegian hotels.
