Wonderful host who couldnt have done more for us.. we left a bottle of wine in the fridge and she went to great effort to get it back to us. Not to mention the views are spectacular and is just a great place to stay. Thanks for everything! -

The owners/operators were very welcoming, had great knowledge of the area and just a general "friendly vibe". We enjoyed the owners. They came to the gate to meet us and gave us all the info about their property that we needed. It was well positioned for views over the ocean and (if it had not been foggy)we would have seen the "First Light". The sky at night was amazing and we were very pleased to hear the residents chose not to have street lights as that would pollute the skyviews at night.

This was my first trip home in 15 years and first with my wife and two sons (we stayed two nights). We could not have asked for a better location - waking up to the most amazing view. Cannot say enough good things about the place even though we only stayed 1 night.
Very clean, very spacious, very comfortable to live in. We were very sad to leave!
Wifi worked well, kitchen was modern and well equipped. Washing machine and dryer worked.
Quality place and I will definitely be recommending this to anyone coming to Kaikoura.

Austin Heights is the ideal place to stay in Kaikoura. Beautifully furnushed upstairs room with views over the town and mountains. A supremely comfortable bed. A pleasant, if hilly, walk down through fields to the beach and two restaurants. It was a little way out of town so a car would be required for further restaurants and shops.
