  Great location- only a short walk to the old town and morning markets. Plenty of great places to eat in the surrounding streets. The onsen on site was a real treat! And it was nice to use their sister hotel's onsens which are walking distance from the ryokan. We loved the service. We were served green tea and local Hida beef jerky on arrival. We didn't have dinner b - The staff is nice and friendly. There was a receptionist that worked during the evening hours, her English was good and she was really helpful! Whenever I had a question or needed something she would even go out of her way to help me.

  As soon as I stepped into the Hotel I was amazed by the decor and traditional interior design. A staff member said I couldn't check in before 3pm (it was 12.30pm) but he said I could leave my bag there. So I left the building and went for my excursion to the Shirakawa-Go Unesco Village and came back around 7pm and he kindly checked me in. Awesome ... ce que les gens disent » stay. The private onsen was incredible and clean. WOW I will be back - I really like the onsen in Takayama Ouan. They have 3 private onsen to choose. So if you don't want to go to public onsen they've other option. The breakfast is great and a lot of choices. My family really enjoyed the breakfast. Location is good also close to the train station. You can just walked for 5 minutes to the hotel from the station.

  Our room was upgraded to a spacious semi-suite, with a full sofa set and two semi-double beds. That's a big plus. The room was not brand new, but it was nice and super clean. The hotel staff even took us to the room after check-in and explained to us the onsen pools available at the hotel. Very soothing. Complimentary Japanese t - The room was really nice, a little old fashioned, but was more than adequate. We had a view of the mountains and loads of greenery. I would have to say that the best part of the hotel, would be their Onsen. The onsen is located inside the hotel, it had an indoor and outdoor onsen, the Onsen was extremely clean and well stocked. The hotel also provided a shuttle bus service to and fro from the hotel, morning market and train station. It was really convenient. The staff were all incredibly friend
