Minshuku Ginmatsu - Photos
Ce que les gens disent
Set right in the middle of the Geisha district (a good thing as all the buildings are traditional and pretty). As soon as you walk in you see framed photos of a cat doing various things, it is the owners cat who slinks around the place like a king - the owner herself is a rad lady who doesn't speak much English but is very accommodating and lovely. The room we had was cheap and huge, with a balcony looking out to the street, and more importantly free tea! bathrooms are separate but there was a . tous commentaires »
This is a unique chance to experience Japanese hospitality at its simplest best. No frills but the real thing: tatami rooms, futon beds, common ofuro. While the owner understands enough English to deal with her guests, she appreciates it when the latter make an effort to utter a few words in Japanese. Had the place not been fully booked, I would gladly have spent a week there, in the middle of the eastern geisha district. Am looking forward to my next visit! I almost forgot to mention the rate:.
Managed by a very hospitable elderly family. Only few words in English are spoken, but the hospitality and friendliness compensate.
The guesthouse is located close to the river and geisha/teahouses district; large park and temple area nearby. The Japanese-style breakfast was wonderful.
Free wireless Internet access in every room and beautiful roses grow at the front door of the house.
AMAZING location - Kenrokuen is a fifteen minute walk away, the loop bus is around the corner, the street backs onto a mountain with an amazing sunset city view, and finally the geisha district is only a street down. The staff were lovely and the place was very very clean. Also an adorable cat of the owners who lounges about downstairs.
Very friendly and authentic Japanese staff. Great location, right in the Geisha district. Free parking. Very close to bicycle rental spot (at bridge). We could also use the ofuro together (with my gf) which is so much better than public non-mixed boring sento or onsen.
Free wifi. Fully furnished kitchen.
It is located in very nice district of Kanazawa (Geisha District). Room was ryokan style with tatami floor and futon and delicious complementary green tea. The hosts are really friendly old couple and the breakfast was great.
Lady owner very sweet. Cute little place where we had a very spacious and comfortable Japanese room. With tea! The Geisha area made the trip even better. However it closes early at night. We recommend the place!.
A Japanese (Ryokan) style accommodation in the beautiful Higashichaya

Very nice hosts, large rooms, good location and very clean. Value for money.
Thin walls!.
nothing.
It has not the equipment of a hotel, but it's a minshuku, and for the price it's ok.
Nothing!.
- rather elementary to wash in the morning.
Shared bathroom.
Lack of English speaking, but only a minor difficulty.
It was really cold outside the rooms.
Nothing.
Futons were slightly uncomfortable.
would have been more fun, if I could speak Japanese, the owners seem to be a lovely & helpful couple.
We were driving from Nagoya n using gps with the Minshuku tel but turn
out it guided us to somewhere . I was a bit lost n the Minshuku
didn't hv Map code . I finally use iPhone Google map to manually
guide me there. The location is quite hidden inside and difficult to
find if we don't hv a google map. Pls check on the tel issue . I
told the owner already .
English name not write on front, only in japanese .
We didn't receive a ticket for the onsen (we didn't ask for it as we realized later). No hot water in the bathroom.
Nothing.
Mhh... Nothing!.
Wish there was hot water in all the wash areas and not only he shower/bathroom.
