  When I arrived at Laconda Valeria I felt as though I'd arrived in heaven. Louisa is 'the staff' and she is kind, helpful and friendly. Ivan is the 'owner' (with his wonderful grandmother) and he went out of his way to taxi me into and out of Corniglia, a.m.'s and p.m.'s, as I didn't have a car. This B&B has to be in the most beautiful posit... ce que les gens disent » ion, with 'the' most spectacular vista in all of the Cinque Terre, right on top of the Mountain between Vernazza and Corniglia, right at the entrance - Locanda Valeria is in an indescribably beautiful location. You can see the ocean, some of the Cinque Terre towns, and the mountains all from the house. We loved it. The hike down to Vernazza is about 45 minutes and you can drive into Corniglia fairly easily in 5-10 minutes. They were so kind to us and our children. My son left is iPhone there and they are mailing it back to the States for us. We loved it and would not stay anywhere else when visiting the Cinque Terre. Thanks!

  The view from the our unit and rooftop deck was amazing - 360 degree view of the town, beach and hillsides. The sound of the waves on the beach below was great at night, and the train is far enough away not to be a problem. There are 2 sets of units under Elisabetta - we stayed in the ones higher-up on the south side of the main street. She has a lengthy family history - The location is AMAZING! We went to bed and awoke with the sounds the waves. The sunrise was to die for. We had a very delayed train ride (common in Italy) and were surpised by two things. 1. After calling Elisabetta, the keys were in our door with an nice post it saying our names. It was a great touch at 1am. 2.The place was very easy to find even for the directionaly challenged. The city itself was most amazing. While the crowds were steady during the day, in the morning and late night it wa

  The location was great -- very close to the train station and easy to wheel our luggage to the Tonino Basso. The site is quite secure: a locked front door, a locked door to the floor; and a locked room. Three feet to the right of the street door is a Laundromat; three feet to the left is an excellent breakfast bar and restaurant, Il Pirata; and... ce que les gens disent » about 12 feet away is a bank and ATM. The staff was very friendly and English-speaking (Jodie, an American from San Diego). Vernazza is tiny -- ess - Excellent place to stay in Vernazza and Cinque Terre in general. Some people may get scared off by the location on the map looking like it a ways up the village - don'T. The village is tiny and it is perfectly situated 2 minutes walking from the train station. At night, it is a bit quieter and nice to retreat to. Also, the building we were told has the only elevator in Vernazza - great for your luggage. Room was clean, comfortable and all you really need.   Francamaria rooms went above and beyond for my husband and I from beginning to end. We arrived in Vernazza 5 hours before check-in and even so, our room was clean and ready! Our hosts provided plenty of great tips and pieces of advice for things to do and see in the area, which was helpful. Francamaria Rooms went above and beyond and arranged for our iPad to be shipped back to the US for us! Two thumbs - Hotel location is excellent, just few mintues away from Vernazza train station. We notify the hotel when we arrived and the owner came to pick us from the train station and lead us to our room. The room is clean and really cosy with a balcony.
