Affittacamere Tonino Basso - Photos
Ce que les gens disent
The location was great -- very close to the train station and easy to wheel our luggage to the Tonino Basso. The site is quite secure: a locked front door, a locked door to the floor; and a locked room. Three feet to the right of the street door is a Laundromat; three feet to the left is an excellent breakfast bar and restaurant, Il Pirata; and about 12 feet away is a bank and ATM. The staff was very friendly and English-speaking (Jodie, an American from San Diego). Vernazza is tiny -- ess. tous commentaires »
Excellent place to stay in Vernazza and Cinque Terre in general. Some
people may get scared off by the location on the map looking like it a
ways up the village - don'T. The village is tiny and it is perfectly
situated 2 minutes walking from the train station. At night, it is a bit
quieter and nice to retreat to. Also, the building we were told has the
only elevator in Vernazza - great for your luggage. Room was clean,
comfortable and all you really need. Vernazza itself is very central,
only 1.
My daughter and I loved our stay here. We were traveling with a lot of gear as this was the end of her summer school session. I booked this room with little knowledge of the surrounding area, and having only to haul her stuff up a short incline and paved street was a lifesaver as many other travelers were staying in places that require a climb up many stairs. My advice to the Cinque Terre traveller is pack as light as possible, but for those that do not have that option this place is a great c.
loved the location- not close to the Main/tourist area- but just a block or so away. LOVED the restaurant right downstairs from the hotel- Il Pirata- owned/run by two brothers. they were fun/funny and loved their customers, as they wanted everyone to feel welcome. great idea to try to get a reservation, as it is one of the most popular places in town. we ate dinner there two nights in a row, and breakfast there twice. Great hotel, great location. Owned by a young gal and her sister helps .
Our room was very clean and comfortable, located only a short walk from the main tourist area by the harbor. When we arrived there was no answer at the reception, but Massimo at the restaurant next door was extremely helpful getting us checked in and settled. While the room does not have much of a view, this is an ideal location from which to explore the Cinque Terre area.
Great location, in this beautiful part of the world, there is a good restaurant down stairs there is also an ATM, post office and laundromat, everything required for a nice relaxing stay, even, believe it or not a laptop in the room. i would definitely recommend the Tonino Basso to anyone thinking of visiting Vernazza.
Small quiet rooms, very well maintained. Ac worked, wc was clean and had
all amenities. Located next to great patisserie, a laundromat and bank
machine. Walking distance to the train (150m) and beach (250m), all this
with no stairs to climb with your heavy luggage. You don't know how
important that is in Vernazza.
The room was very clean. There was free wi-fi. The staff gave us some
very useful information about the hiking trails and restaurants. The
shower was small but, there was good pressure and hot water. The towels
were unusual, napkin like, but worked fine. The cafe next door makes
excellent pastries for breakfast.
Tonino Basso was a very good hotel and staff, very good value, well appointed and in an excellent location, 150m from the train station (no views - but we didn't expect or pay for any). A very good all round choice for the right $'s.Try the restaurant down stairs for breakfast or dinner - an absolute gem!.
Modern rooms.
Great location.
Vernazza is so small, that even when you are at the edge of the town you are very close to the train and the waterfront.
The Pirate brothers downstairs pastry baking is so wonderful.
This is why no breakfast included is a good thing.
Quieter than being down toward town.
The room was clean, pretty, and reasonably priced for Cinque Terre. We had peace of mind, booking it ahead of time, which you can't do with many affitacamere in Vernazza. In such a small town, it was just up the street from everything, and just upstairs from the great Il Pirata cafe.
The staff were accommodating and although we arrived later than their
check-in window they left the keys for us at the restaurant downstairs.
The hotel is also very close to the train station so it is helpful for
those who cannot trek a whole lot. Also the rooms were very clean.
Perfectly adequate lodgings in a place where one's hotel room is not the most important part of the experience.
Truly wonderful restaurant just downstairs with outdoor tables and fab food.
Right in Vernazza, one of the five little cities of Cinque Terre.
Quiet location, helpful staff, comfortable room and bed, everything worked (except Internet a few evenings), located above fantastic cafe and excellent laundromat, easy walk from train and easy walk to harbor and through town. Highly recommend.
The facilities were very clean and safe, located close to downtown and the train station and were a great value. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Jody and Alessandra! Would definitely recommend it to anyone going to CT.
Easy to get to from the train station. Very clean. Space efficient and good decor. Staff was super friendly. Alessandra contacted me for our arrival time to be sure that we would have no trouble getting in and checking in.
Beautiful setting, people have worked hard and have overcome the tragic mudslides of 2011 - the people are kind, strong willed and friendly. We had a wonderful visit. My teenage sons favorite of our multi (big) city trip.
Compared to beds in other European hotels, these were reasonably comfortable.
Wi-Fi worked fine.
A short walk to most places in town.
Air conditioning.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Well located, 5 min walk to town, has a lift, easy access you do not
have to climb steps to get there and next to the best restaurant in town
... Pirates. Friendly family took care of us.
The hotel has easy access to the town centre and the train station. There is an excellent restaurant next door serving fabulous breakfast treats and excellent lunch and evening meals.
Situated in a beautiful town, Vernazza. Wife lost her passport and the girl working there was FABULOUS in helping us locate it and avert a major problem at the beginning of our trip.
Location not too far from the train station, and the laundromat, post office, and an ATM are right next door. Local flavor and very friendly people Very nice accommodations!.
We were very pleased with Tonino Basso. The location was wonderful, very close to train station and the Pirates Café next store was terrific, the brothers are a riot.
Very clean rooms. Location is away from the harbor (only 5 minute walk) so it is quieter. Room had A/C that worked! Building has working elevator.
We loved our stay in the affittacamere tonino in the beautiful Vernazza and would highly recommend this great hotel.
Modern and very clean. Good location. Owner helpful. Self serve laundry and good restaurant next door.
Quiet. Best hotel Wi Fi on the planet and free as it should be.
Pirate restaurant is superb.
At the top of Vernazza, but close to everything. Great value and clean.
Very nearby were a good restaurant, a bank-o-mat and a laundry.
Location, cleanliness, elevator, aroma soaps and shampoo!.
It was nice and clean and had a gods location.
The facility is the nicest in Vernazza.
We liked the location as it was away from the train station and quieter than the other locations that were listed. Even though it was a small town, it was helpful to be next door to "Il Pirata" as the accommodations don't offer breakfast. After checking in to our rooms, we checked everything and it all seemed to be in good working order. It was nice to have a laptop as well that they have in each room. After being given the keys, there were 3 doors that needed to be opened to have access to our.
The room was adequate - somewhat small. But it was very clean. Location
was perfect. You must visit the Pirates Restaurant down below. Gracious
owner and the best cannoli I've ever tasted. Only negative was the
room size but when in Italy you don't spend much time in the room.
Pleasant, clean, simple room with basic amenities. Nice lady working as reception/manager. Great cafe next door (Pirata) with two funny brothers running it. Room was a good value. Nice to have an elevator, as I had a knee injury and we had two large bags to carry.
Jodi was wonderful and informative at check-in.
Convenient location.
Good shower pressure and hot water.
Convenient location in vernazza close to train station and away from noisy restaurants.
The location was good. Easy walk from train station and too the center of town.
Excellent location. Rather luxury accommodation for a small village.
off the beaten path, but still very close to everything.
The room was big and clean.
The clean and basic room.
arrange early check-in.
The reception person or owner (?) is very accommodating and kind and
took time off to meet me at the station. She spoke good english and was
very helpful. It made my stay very nice.
The free WiFi is also great. And the Pirates restaurant downstairs serves great breakfast! And the owners there are fantastic.
Availability for handing over the keys after hours check-in, even if it has been done by the owner of the restaurant located below; the restaurant below "il pirata" e its owners.
We liked that it was easy to get to from the train. It had an elevator for our luggage. It was clean.
Vernazza lovely town, would like to visit later in year but imagine very crowded then.
The location and the bed.
The bed was a bit hard, but so are most hotel beds in Italy. Also a bit noisy -- we could hear chairs scraping from the floor above in the morning, but nevertheless we slept well because it was quiet late at night. The crowds at the rail stations were a bit much -- hikers generally take the train back from their destination at the end of the day.
The WiFi kept going in and out and we were shown how to reset the router
when this happened. I don't think this is their fault but rather the
fault of the infrastructure in Cinque Terre.
The only negative I can think of is that this is a newer building and not very sound proof. If you are a light sleeper hearing the comings and goings of the other guests might be a problem for you, or just bring earplugs. The wifi is intermittent, but the excellent cafe downstairs (Il Pirata) has wifi as well. Nothing much negative to say. We were very happy with this place.
Wifi was spotty. Some local construction around the corner, but
would'nt called it a big problem.
It was quite noisy at night. Wi-fi appeared to be turned off from
9:30pm - 9:30am.
We were there for two nights and had to change rooms after the first night - but the staff were very embarrassed and responded accordingly.
internet shut off at 10:30 pm both nights.
We had a little trouble finding it, because there's no sign -- thankfully, Massimo from Il Pirata noticed us and had keys to let us in.
They have wireless internet, but we didn't know the password since
the staff is usually not there past a certain time - not a big deal!.
There was no way to get access to our room after about 19hrs (staff is gone then) when our train was delayed, so we had to stay in La Spezia the first night.
Able to hear conversations from adjoining rooms ( luckily not much of a problem during our stay), Internet was not available a few nights- but otherwise good.
Staying in Vernazza is expensive, and this room was no exception. This was our most expensive room and no breakfast.
Did not expect the tiny bar fridge (more like an electric cooler), but it didn't work well anyway.
Shower head had a "power leak" and had to be adjusted so it didn't spray all over the place.
Found that all of our hotels in Italy this year are going with towels that are a dish cloth-like fabric. Not real soft on the skin, but are surprisingly absorbent.
Cinque Terre has still not recovered form the storms of two years ago Many trails still closed and the trains were AWFUL.
If you are looking for something on the piazza or harbor, this is not there, as this place is up the hill away from the main square.
Room was stark for the price.
Nothing.
Refrigerator is too small and does not work well.
It was very basic and too expensive for what it offered.
They have charged two credit cards and have not refunded or responded!.
The doors at times extremely noisy hearing others literally banging and kicking some of the doors in the early morning as they try to unlock it in frustration. We woke up several times to this. In a close call during checkout, we had to wait for nearly 30 minutes for the lady to come and complete the process.....we say close because we had to get on a train to Milan and we were worried that we may have had to dump the keys and run.
Difficult to find (no sign), difficult to figure out how to check in, had to pay cash at check out because card machine wasn't working, bath towels are too thin. Need to use three keys to access all the doors.
Basic beds.
Towels seemed like tablecloths.
Would have preferred staying in an inn with breakfast room and reception area. We booked late so only thing available. It was basically a room in a 4 story building....one of many with many locks and long halls. Noisy when people come and go. Felt remote and no sense of hospitality or coziness. Adequate lodging but that's all. Vernazza is small and our lodging did nothing to enhance our stay in cinque Terre.
Room was too small for 4 people. Only adequate for 2. Too expensive for quality of room. Beds uncomfortable.
Internet wi-fi is not up and run efficiently. House keeping is poor. Direction to the hotel is unclear/no street sign.
AC didn't work first night. very small room. towels were very very thin.
The wifi sucks , always down. The lift was not working when we check out
or maybe becos it was lock and we hv to carry our luggage down 3floors.
That it was inconvenient to check in.
The television was very small and the way that it was placed in the room
did not allow it to be watched from the bed properly. Also, it would be
nice to have cable with some English movie channels.
As the reception is not always there, it was difficult to indicate problems when I had them as there was not really anyone there.
Difficult to find the hotel in the city (the hotel is in the end of the city although being flat) and in building. The internet does not work, the computer installed in the room did not perform basic operations such as transferring images from the camera to the USB, no blankets although a bit cold at night; limited period of service; there aren't breakfast.
I knew we had no views, but with all the rebuild construction, it was loud in the morning. Definitely a backpacker place. If you are looking for something more than a place to sleep, you may want to look at Monterosso. Others staying on the same street were paying much less than we paid. We should have booked direct.
Fairly basic room and bathroom,overpriced.
The room was tiny And-the shower so small you couldn't turn around there was no milk for coffee and the fridge and kettle didnt work.
