  I checked into Grand Hyatt in Dec2013. I was pleasantly surprised by how big the rooms are; at least, twice as big as any other hotel that I have stayed in for a price around $400. The rooms are extremely good in terms of maintenance and all the facilities that you would expect of Hyatt. Grand Central station is 1-minute walk. S - Great location right next to Grand Central Station and a short walk to Bryant Park . Room was clean and efficient . Good bathroom with daily replenished products . Iron & ironing board in room already . Ice machine a short walk away on same floor. Huge Lobby where the free wifi was available . Lobby included coffee shop and snack area . Nice bar area . We didn't use the restaurent or breakfast facilities preferring to eat out .

The service was excellent, far better than many more expensive hotels, nothing was too much effort for the staff who were always bright and friendly and came up with quick and more than satisfactory solutions to anything they were asked.   Even from walking through the doors the lobby was friendly and professional, the bar was amazing, helpful staff. The room was basic but had everything we needed. My partner loved the tinted glass bathroom and the bed was comfy.   Our experience was great from our reception by the doorman helping us with our bags, our greeting as we checked in and the comfort of our room. We even got a n/c upgrade. The hotel is situated conveniently to both the theatre district, lower Manhattan, and is right off the FDR at 37th.
