Spacious well-lit room with nice television. Location of the hotel was ideal for the seafront (where the new parkrun on Saturday mornings will be taking place). They put on an early continental breakfast (7am) for us which was considerate. There is off-street parking but can imagine that this is tight when hotel fully-booked.

Lovely food - carvery and a la carte
Rooms were clean and spacious and simply decorated with tea/ coffee making facilities
And the ironing board and iron were in the room on arrival, no need to call reception and wait - a real plus!

Good value for money comfortable rooms nicely furnished and for the price everything I would expect. We have been to this group once before and will certainly use in future when in Portsmouth visiting relatives. Will definitely try restaurant next visit as Portsmouth really needs good quality food outlets.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Just off the motorway, but set in lovely wooded gardens so therefore not much noise. In fact, no noise, with window closed! Thank you to the staff at Somerset House for an outstanding contribution to hospitality in Portsmouth/Southsea. We stayed 1 night only and could find nothing to complain about; not even I, an avid watcher of 'four in a bed!' The room was delightful, breakfast was good and wholesome and my cousin wallowed for an hour and a half in his Jacuzzi bath.

Very lovely hotel. Individually decorated rooms, finished to a high standard. Warm welcome from Laura which was much appreciated following a rough crossing from Bilbao. Simple continental breakfast but good quality ingrediants offered and sufficient for us. We walked into Portsmouth along the seafront and caught a taxi back to Southsea. Had a very nice meal at Rosie's Vineyard which was a short walk from hotel. Very pleasant overnight stay.

The estate was lovely, and the layout of the hotel made sense. The rooms were beautifully kept and appointed, and the place was restfully quiet at night. Amenities were enjoyed, and were well appointed and operated. We have no negative comment.
