Good west end theatres within comfortable walking distance (to watch Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera and soon The Book of Mormon).

The hotel is in the heart of the business district, so it is a quieter neighborhood on the weekends, but bustling during the week.   When I realized that London hotel rooms are very, very small, I found the 9 Hertford Street apartment hotel. It's location is excellent: just off Piccadilly st., very close to Green Park underground station that brings you anywhere (including to and from Heathrow airport with the Piccadilly line) , a 25 minutes walk to Oxford st.   It's a cross between a hotel and and apartment which allows you to be very flexible with regard to cooking your own meals, getting a takeaway (which can be delivered according to the literature in my room) or going out to one of the many eateries at the Westfield Centre which is where the hotel is located. The breakfast was great as well as there was enough to eat for everyone....the kids loved the scrambled eggs, lol. Its right in the mall so shopping was within very easy access and we didn't have to take our jackets out for shopping when it got cold.
