Everything!! The rooms are furnished to a very high standard and the bar and lounge are very comfortable. All the staff are professional, attentive and friendly. We experienced some difficulties with our booking but the managers could not have done more to rectify the situation. Will we stay there again - absolutely!. It is our 2nd stay at Hotel Du Vin Newcastle,and it did not disappoint !!! Every thing was great!! the staff are always very helpful,and just a simple request was dealt with immediately with a smile.The room and bathroom was really nice !!Will go back without doubt.

The staff couldn't do enough for us, and we felt like one of the family during the two days we were there. We'll be back as soon as possible!. Great hotel. Great location. Excellent staff. Great room (I stayed in the main building). My room was on the first floor and it was a tiny bit noisy from traffic but I am being picky. Get a room on a higher floor and it will be fine. A most pleasant welcome. Excellent friendly staff throughout. The food in the brasserie is imaginative and beautifully prepared - wonderful! Within a few minutes walk of quayside bars. Very comfortable room with luxury bathroom on a mezzanine level. Excellent breakfast. Good location. Friendly and efficient staff. Good price for a hotel of this quality. We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist, who showed to our room, which we found to be spotlessly clean and very comfortable and luxurious and also with air conditioning. Very helpful, friendly staff, especially in Reception. Rooms luxurious and Sunday night offer of Superior Room was a delight with bathrooms we didn't want to leave!. From arrival to departure the staff were all excellent. The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout and everything during our stay was first class. We will be back. Very comfortable beds. Nice crisp linens. Good outdoor areas that I'm sure would be lovely in summer. Nice wine selection in Bistro. Attractive bar and restaurant. Loved having Nespresso machine in room with real milk in fridge. Really good shower and like Miller Harris products. Delightful waiting staff. Staff were excellent, attentive but not intrusive. A credit to Hotel du vin. Hotel in an ideal position to Quayside and very comfortable. Excellent room facilities - mini bar, Sky Sports on the TV (rare), free wifi and the food in the bistro is very good quality. What a cool place to stay...gorgeous. We felt comfortable and local staff all excellent. Expensive but worth it. The welcome from the receptionist was excellent and made us feel very welcome from the outset. Front rooms have river view but main road position can be noisy so best to ask for a room overlooking the inner courtyard, though no real view from these. Limited on-site parking. Bar a bit expensive. Nothing. Leaving!. The room is quite small. based on square metres, you would expect more space, but it's split over 2 floors, and area is taken up by a staircase. The bathroom with tub is very large, with a wonderful shower, but the main sitting room is very small, not even big enough for a reading chair. Had problem with choice for supper and had long wait for replacement for calves' liver which wasn't edible. However we were served very good alternative but were starving by 10pm!!. Parking can be restrictive - I arrived on bank holiday Monday when the hotel was not busy but the car park was full. The waiter at dinner was not overly friendly and seemed to become flustered when the restaurant started to get busy. The pavlova pudding was very poor and was sent back. The food overall was just above average and I didn't think it demonstrated value for money on this occasion. Nothing. Car park charge. Draughty windows. Noisy water systems at night - take your ear-plugs!. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Drinking in the bar after hours we sometimes had to wait a while for the night porter to get us a drink. Very small nuisance: outside door needed 2 hands to open and was rather stiff; was staying in D'Arenberg. No national draught beer!. Nothing. having to leave. weather. the bar areas is a little small and hard to find a seat for a drink in the evening. Slight issue with cleanliness in so far as there were a couple of cobwebs on the ceiling of the bedroom and hairs in the bath. Also I feel that car parking should not be an extra although I apprecaited that many hotels no charge for this facility. Not many facilities. Beer at bar was poor. A bit expensive for the experience. bar was a bit small so struggled to find a seat for a drink. The charge for the car park £10 reduced from £20 is outrageous. Makes a return visit very doubtful. The food at the bistro in the evening. It was a bit noisy during the night. Not sure if it was the Metro or boiler or ... something kept me awake!. The bath and the shower. Felt it wasn't value for money the malmassion is cheaper but much nicer n much more special and a nicer location. Depressing brick "privy" in bedroom with a very dusty roof. Inadequate lighting in bedroom. Slow service in restaurant. Nowhere to sit in bedroom Noisy roller blinds. I found out after 2 hours of rebooting that the wi fi was down. It would have been helpful to know at check in. More importantly the wi fi had been down for a number of days and I'd booked for ther hotel with wi fi without any indication it was down. A little to far from City Centre. For the money I paid I expected a great hotel with superb service. It was OK, but only OK. More attention to detail is needed. Plus I couldnt check in until 16:10. Beware on checkout we paid by debit card. A couple of days later we discovered the hotel had took the money and again were holding the cost of the room plus 50 so you sort of pay twice for 7 days when funds are released back to your bank !! Also we could not get a table in the restaurant it was fully booked we were not advised to book in advance of check in !! We had to eat at 5:30 till get in and that was after a debate with staff.Room a bit on the tatty side for the price tag. Our booking wasn't in their system, maybe that's why we got a 'last minute' room and why they tried to charge us for the 'inclusive' breakfasts. Car parking a bit of a palaver.
