the location was great only a 5 minute walk to the train station and to the shopping centre. Contrary to other reviews I found the reception staff very helpful, especially Natalie. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Parking was no problem - car park at the front of the hotel and plenty spaces at the back. I would certainly stay there again. Cedar Court was very pleasant and the staff very friendly and very helpful. The Brasserie was ideal for a pleasant meal and I noticed a number of other people on their own, so you didn't feel awkward.

The staff were very friendly and the location is excellent for walking around the Stray and heading into town.I liked the approachable staff and how freindly they were,and also greatamenities,and really enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel is ideal, big open fields oposite the hotel and only a few minutes from the town. Very attentive staff which made the difference. Food was excellent and we will return there again. Nice room and very attentive staff - price was excellent value!. very comfortable rooms, very well kept hotel, nice and clean. The bar prices were a bit steep, but staff were very professional. The room was very spacious and clean and excellent value for money. Only stayed for 1 night so can't comment on breakfast and facilities. I was particularly grateful for having been able to check in early...plenty of time to get ready for a friend's wedding!. Comfortable surroundings and good facilities.The reception staff were very helpful. I felt the food was a bit pricey, but plenty lovely restaurants in Harrogate.Thought the bar prices were extremely high. There is a motion sensor in the room for the heating (i was told). it would constantly click all the time we were in the room. very annoying. also broken and missing celing tiles in the lift.thought breakfast a bit expensive. The breakfast was expensive at £12.95 per head. The only complaint we had was that our room seemed cold when going in, but warmed up once radiator had clicked in. Bar prices and restuarant prices quite high. Breakfast very expensive. I read many comments about this before our stay clearly they have not listened. Cost of breakfast. First room was drafty and cold. Saw staff who immediately changed our room. Spoke to them later who confirmed the room was drafty and the matter was being attended to. The reason from the draft was a loose fitting window. Second room was excellent. Breakfast was quite expensive and clearing away started exactly on time at 10.00 - slightly early on a Sunday. As the buiildings old, the floors were creaky, so ther was some noise from the cleaners in the hall ways when trying to sleep after 8.00am. Could do with a shower cap.We did not realise on booking that breakfast was not included in ourrate. As we have stayed at the hotel before we knew that breakast atthis hotel is of a high standard. When we asked how much breakfastwould be when we were checking in, we felt that the 12.99 pp price wasa bit steep!. Breakfast was far too expensive. The reception staff both when arriving and leaving were very unfriendly and appeared uninterested in their work. The reception area looked dowdy. I couldn't really find fault although your evening menu and breakfast options did look a bit on the expensive side.room was a little cold, but it was freezing out side, extra heater was set up in the room once we asked. it soon warmed up. Piped music at breakfast not welcome.The breakfast was dreadful, a total rip off.
