The hotel room was really good, very spacious and luxurious. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the hotel and we were very pleased with the food. Bottom line: it is not a cheap accommodation but in the end you get what you pay for. We would highly recommend it!. Everything about the Southernhay House was so refreshing .. To find friendly and helpful staff, luxury on a scale of 9.5 out of 10 and one of the best hotels i have stayed in outside of London ..

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and decorated to a high standard.Location was excellent a few minutes walk from the cathedral . This hotel is quiet, elegant and luxurious. It is in a fantastic location with car parks near by and only a short walk to many restaurants and the city centre. Ultimate attention to detail. If you understand this, love quality finishes that are more than skin deep then you'll love it. Staff were excellent too. Within walking distance to the Cathedral and city centre. Very friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic food. Food, service attitude. To ex ta ordinary requests eg a taxi at 5:45 in the morning!. Can not think of anything !!!!. Old design bed is too large for the room (Wilberforce). The passage from one side of the bed to the toilette is very narrow and could be difficult during the night, especially for older people. The breakfast offering could be improved. No on site parking but 24 hr car park nearby. Nothing, it was a great experience. Just a warning the toilet and shower room doors are glass and see through was a little surprised but it didn't bother us!. The belly pork for dinner was overcooked - charred. The selection of wine by the glass is limited.
