It is a traditional pub, with the hotel accommodation in a self-contained annex, and ample parking. There are pleasant views from the rooms across the bowling green. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with good facilities and excellent showers. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very reasonably price

  I loved everything about this hotel, we booked it for our first wedding anniversary and loved the look of it from the pictures, I wasn't 100% sure it would be up to scratch as it was attached to a restaurant and the bar didn't close till 12. They were going to RHS flower show at Tatton Park so the hotel was a perfect 'base'. My parents had a lovely room at the front of the Hotel (which was quieter) and the staff couldn't do enough for them. A card was provided from the Hotel which my parents greatly appreciated. In organising the weekend the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this hotel!

  I stayed at the Eskdale Lodge around a year ago and had a lovely stay so re-booked as I was in the area again. I'm pleased to say that the hotel is just as lovely the second time round, I stayed in the same room as before and they also have a new En-Suite. The breakfast is fantastic. Once again I felt completely at home here, and they also allowed me to stay in the bar area with my laptop while awaiting my partner to - We loved everything about this hotel from the building its self to the beautiful bathroom. We got upgraded to a bigger room due to a cancellation with no extra charge. The room was spacious, spotless and very quiet for sleeping. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful sorting our taxi for us. We didn't try the food as we went out all evening, but other guests we spoke to said it was wonderful. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

  The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very quiet and homelike. The breakfast was generous and the two dinners I had in the Carvery were quite good. This was my second stay (six nights) and I was visiting family in Heaton Moor. I had a rental car and appreciated the free car parking.   I have very seldom stayed in an inn that is as well managed as the Dog. The welcome was superb and the staff could not do enough to make me at home. The, the bar and serving staff are tru7ly excellent, the food very good indeed and the wine list well priced and excellent.
