modern conveniences and only a hop, skip and jump to shops, bars,

A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!

It was convenient for the major attractions of Sultanhamet. The staff were friendly and the facilities were fine. Great views of Hagia Sophia from the roof terrace. Very stylish new hotel in a nice district of Istanbul. We stayed for 5
days in the beginning of May, 3 days were hot, and 2 windy and rainy,
and it was equally comfortable in the room. We stayed in a standard

and not far from the funicular (the transportation mean) that goes to
