The Toshiharu Ryokan is a beautiful old building in a good central
location. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and did everything to
make our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Japanese
breakfast. All of the facilities were very good and clean. We loved
our room overlooking the garden. We look to staying at the Toshiharu
in the future.

This is the best guest house I ever experience in Japan. I would say the
best of all. Highly recommended. The owner is very friendly, very
helpful, could speak english fluently, know about all the must see
places in Kyoto and even give direction clearly. Also you can buy the
one day bus ticket here. I like the modern design of every section, very

worth the extra money. The staff were exceptionally patient with our
limited language ability and extremely helpful in regard to local
information and travel questions. The room was very quiet and
exceptionally clean, I would definitely recommend staying here,
especially for those travelling with jr Pass as the location is very
near the rail station.
