  Tourist House Ghiberti was very close to the Duomo and within easy walking distance of the railway station and all the attractions we came to see. Claudio was an excellent host.   We loved the location and the size of the suite. It was very comfortable and had a homey feeling. Our host, Duccio, was very pleasant and greeted us with wine and complimentary soft drinks. This place is for people that are more independent. Other then your host, there is no staff like you would find in a hotel.   We stayed 6 nights in the summer. The location is simply perfect. The rooms are great as well - spacious, clean and with good facilities (water cooker for example). I'd advise to pay for the airco in the summer to close the windows to prevent noise from outside. The owner is always willing to help and was very friendly. I would recommend Sani Tourist - We ended up in a small suite in another building which had a complete kitchen. The location is great; in the 'Dante' area of Florence. The person in charge of the hotel - Raymond - speaks English and is very helpful (he was born around the corner from the hotel). Keep in mind that Florence in June is packed with tourists and that Florence is an expensive city compared to other Tuscan cities. Thus, in general the hotel rooms will seem like a lot less value for the money vs. the rooms in othe

The location is five minutes walk to the Duomo, and the Academy museum is almost around the corner. I highly recommend this hotel.
