  Gallarate is the perfect small city to stay in if you are traveling by car or train. The hotel is a short walk from the train station making it easy to take day trips into Milan. One block behind the hotel is a 24 hour parking garage and supermarket. Several nice restaurants are within 3 or 4 blocks.   The staff were wonderful, very helpful and willing to assist. They spoke broken English but it was enough to be able to translate my requirements to the taxi driver. The room was compact but sufficient for my needs as I was only staying one night.
