Ashton House is luxury guest house in the Vale of Avoca, location for the TV series Ballykissangel, beside the Meeting of The Waters, where the Avonmore and Avonbeg river meet. The spacious rooms at Ashton House are elegantly decorated in light modern colours, and feature satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. They also include tea/coffee-making facilities, hairdryers and have either garden or river views. Each morning traditional Irish breakfasts are served at the guest house. Guests can relax in the large lounge, or the outdoor seating area, which overlooks the gardens. Excellent trout and salmon fishing is available on the river and guests can take countryside walks along the Wicklow Way.

Lovely 19th century house in a beautiful impressive setting. Really peaceful - didnt hear a sound at night despite it being in full occupancy. Spotlessly clean rooms and very comfy beds. Ashton House's biggest asset however are its lovely hosts - Catriona and Sean. We were welcomed with coffee and delicous homemade cakes in the living room which is well stocked with maps and leaflets about Wicklow. They gave us great recommendations especially for a wonderful restaurant in Rathdrum: Bates. They.
kaikki arvostelut » Great location 100 yards from the Meeting of The Waters, 200 yards from nearest pub, "The Meetings" (which appears to have a new chef, as we had two very enjoyable small meals there). Roughly four miles from towns of Avoca, and Rathdrum in the opposite direction (had a very enjoyable meal there in Bates Restaurant). Some great walks in the area if you are into that. Both Catriona and Shane in Ashtown House made us feel very welcome (offered us tea when we arrived with a gorgeous banana cake!) H. Me and my boyfriend stayed in Ashton house for 2 nights and it was great experience. Catriona is a great host, easy to talk with and really friendly. She welcomed us with coffee and homemade cakes and gave a lots of tips where to go for hiking and which places are the best to eat.It is an amazing place to relax in beautiful countryside - views are amazing. Breakfast was delicious. The best B&B that I have ever stayed at and good value for money too! You really feel like at home. Thank you C. We stayed two nights at the Ashton House during our two week trip to Ireland. The accommodations were very comfortable and the couple, Shawn and Catalina, were very gifted in hospitality! Welcomed with tea or coffee as well as homemade pastries. Very comfortable bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Breakfast was amazing! Assistance provided for dinner reservations and touring information greatly appreciated! Very nice tour of the must see Avoca weavers close by!. Beautiful tranquil setting and greeted on arrival with choice of coffee/tea with a selection of cake or biscuit. Luggage taken to room. Premises spotless and food wholesome with the most divine porridge and scrumptious breakfast. Mine hosts Shane and Catriona could not do enough to make our stay pleasant and worry free. Great knowledge of area and tourist info. I will not hesitate to recommend Ashton House to friends and fellow travellers. Shane and Katrina went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We could adjust the room temperature which is rare in Europe and very clean which was not unusual for the many B&B's we stayed in while touring Ireland. The setting by the river was beautiful and the trad music with the local patrons at the pub close by made the evening one of our hi-lites. It was one of our best stays in our two week drive around Ireland. On arrival our friendly hosts presented us with afternoon tea while our bags were taken to our room. Our room was spacious, very clean with modern decor and overlooked the Avoca River. The breakfast menu was extensive and servings generous. The owners were very friendly and provided lots of information about places to visit and eating out venues. An overall relaxing experience. I stayed in alot of Guesthouses in Ireland and this one really stands out. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, they really make an effort to make you feel at home, just nice people! The breakfast was wonderful, really fresh food and high quality. The location is stunning, peaceful, tranquil, so beautiful, back to nature & the countryside. Catriona and Shane are wonderful hosts - very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and so helpful in all ways. Brilliant welcome with drinks and home-made cakes, wonderful breakfasts. Set in a beautiful spot next to a field with horses and donkeys and a river, 5 minute walk from the pub. Very peaceful and relaxing. Couldn't be better!. We were greeted warmly, offered tea and home baked goods straight away. Sean helped with our bags and gave us a great overview of the area and options for touring. Catriona was also a great hostess and provided a wonderful breakfast. We enjoyed the Irish horses in the pasture and the Meeting of the Waters. Catriona and Shane are wonderful hosts and give service which can't be bettered. Wonderful welcome and a lovely Irish tea on arrival. The location is superb and is great for sight seeing in the Vale of Avoca and beyond. Local pub with friendly staff and within very short walking distance from B&B. Fantastic bed and breakfast. Beautiful traditional house modernised beautifully. In a very pretty location,handy enough to Glendalough etc.Breakfast was great and hosts Catriona and Shane were wonderful, even set up table for us outside when we arrived a bit late with takeaways. Highly recommended. It was our best stay in Ireland. The place feels just like home. You can feel the love and effort Shane and Catriona put in this lovely BnB. The room was light and quiet. The breakfast was exceptional- you have a plenty of choices with porridge, traditional Irish, baigles and fruits. The best ever!. The welcome was unparalled anywhere else. The willingness to help with advice about things to do was excellent. The food was excellent. We loved the location - beautiful countryside. Local activities, places of interest and good restaurants were recommended and proved to be as good as promised. Not a criticism but the only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been a real fire in the living room. Nothing worth speaking about. Internet went offline a couple of times, but as WiFi signal strength was always high, that was more likely due to issues with the Eircom line to a remote location than anything else, and who wants to spend their time online in such a lovely location!. Everything was perfect!. Absolutely nothing. Nothing. Nothing!. I can't say that there is anything we didn't like. Nothing. Not a thing.... The bathroom was more than suitable but relatively basic. An enclosed shower would be better. Liked everything but could have done with a second bedside table in our room and maybe a little more shelf space in the bathroom. N.a. Nothing. Nothing. All good!. Nothing, next year back. Nothing At All. Price: it's a little bit more expensive than other similars where we've stayed in the west and you cannot pay with VISA. Credit card was not accepted. Nothing. Nothing.
