  This was our second and more thorough visit to cognac. It is a beautifultown and we had several good meals in town with taxi back to the hotel.The hotel was very comfortable with excellent and helpful staff.   Very nice, friendly staff. Good restaurant recommendations! It takes a 10 minute walk to the center of town, whilst making you feel you are in the country. The grounds are really pretty, over the river with a lot of greenery. It feels very, very peaceful there. Carpark is free and safe. The Lodge room is quite spacious. We really enjoyed staying at Quai des Pontis, and would stay again. - Great location right by the river, just over the bridge from the Hennessey Distillery and a 10 minute walk from the old town of Cognac. There were several restaurants within walking distance and 2 boulangeries within 2 minutes to get fresh croissants in the morning. The chalets were lovely, all wood panelled and very clean and new.

  The hotel was "funky". Furniture painted on the walls of the corridors, paintings directly painted onto the walls and the dining room is bright colours and welcoming. The couple who own it are friendly as are the girls in the restaurant. They made us feel at home from the minute we arrived.   This was a lovely experience and we were warmly welcomed by the hosts who were extremely friendly and understanding. The chateau is beautifully furnished with lovely antique furniture and artifacts. Breakfast is shared with other guests giving people a chance to meet and talk and we found it an enjoyable experience.
