  La Bastide Saint Martin overlooks a gorgeous piece of countryside, is set in a lovely big, sparse garden, has a great pool and it's rooms are quiet and simply, though beautifully decorated (we wanted to take the shutters home!).   The hotel was in an excellent and beautiful location, literally at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to the castle. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and they all spoke great English. My boyfriend and I (we are both 24yrs old) visited the hotel spa during our stay for a back massage which was lovely - I highly recommend.   Great location...and a good price and value for the money. It was a darling little apartment with everything needed, even a washing machine. Nice large back patio. - The apartment was fairly close to the Carcassonne ramparts & there were also some good small restaurants nearby. We generally enjoyed our visit.
