The standard room I had needed some redecorating for sure, but it was very spacious and had a fantastic city view.   Our stay at the Ipanema Plaza was excellent. When we arrived tired (without luggage, lost by the airline) we were offered a room already at 0600 although we hadn't expected to check-in until 1400.   We loved the staff at the Ipanema Inn. Everyone there spoke English and were extremely helpful in finding excursions, transportation, food etc.. We had a large group of 6 (2 seniors and 2 children under 9) which made for some difficult logistics when traveling and the staff here made everything easy. This is a great place to stay and will do it again. - The hotel has been refurbished, is clean, comfortable and the staff and breakfast are great. Also, the a/c unit was quiet and the shower was good too. - Hotel staff very attentative and helpful. Probably the best value for money in the area. Breakfast simple but sufficient. Same as the rooms. Although I stayed in a room with street view, there is no noise. Definitely a good option for those who want good location and good service without being ripped off.
