  I can't say enough good things about the Alto and staff . The room was clean ,comfortable and had little extras that made you feel at home.I had a mini box of chocolates and a welcome note waiting in my room as well as my luggage that they had kept secure for me for a week I was traveling to Caines . The breakfasts were very impressive with a great choice of fresh, delicious food and coffee made to order. The fresh fruit platter was an unexpected, very appreciated highlight on arrival.   The staff were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you. The room was spacious and very well appointed. They location would be great if you had plans at one of the sporting venues and although you were 2 blocks from the North/South tram routes, there were East/West trams running one street either side of the hotel. Very accommodating and sympathetic to our needs for our 6 month old babies. Well furnished rooms/suites for amazing value. Best location - just around the corner from flinders lane where lots of good restaurants / cafes located. One of the best experiences I've had at a hotel - particularly for the price we paid!

  Couldn't have asked for more - and the cafe downstairs was open on Good Friday! Apartment was clean and serviced well. Loved location down a few steps turn right onto Degraves St and huge choice of eateries. 4 mins walk from Flinders Staton, 8 mins to Fed Sq. and Young & Jackson pub - restaurant upstairs great meal. It must have been a pain for them but they were very friendly and I appreciated that very much. I'd book into this one again for a lot of reasons. I like people who don't make a big deal about things and just get on with it. The managers made our family very welcome and our stay was really great. I am looking forward to going back.

It also near the melbourne central, queen victoria markets. And many tourist points can be reach on foot. (If you don't mind to walk)

  Unfortunately the hot water system died the day we arrived, but management was wonderful during this very testing time. We were kept informed on progress of repairs and eventually taxied to another apartment. Staff also took time to offer sightseeing advice and hints to enhance our stay.
