Friendly staff, clean room with a nice patio and great river view. Clean pool with a nice lawn area. The restaurant chef cooks the garlic mashed potatoes as a treat for the staff, order those, they are to die for!. Nothing. If we werent so tired from traveling I would have left and gone somewhere else. close to highway, view of the river/dam, beautiful lobby. The location was excellent for what we wanted.

The morning staff at the restaurant were more than friendly. The free hot breakfast. Location was great for a one night stay. View of the Columbia River and The Dalles Dam. Being next to the Dalles dam and the rapids was nice. That's why we chose Shilo Inn. Not a bad budget stopping off point in the Columbia Valley. on site restaurant. full size breakfast. room with the balcony. Location. The hot tub was broke. The staff was rude and acted as though we were bothering them when we had questions. The girl that checked us in acted like she hated her job and was incredibly rude. The "free" breakfast was awful. We had to stop to eat because none of the six of us was happy with the food. I had a very bad experience and will never be back. Because of our experience I probably will never stay at another shilo inn. bath/shower faucet controls, limited complimentary breakfast choices. That we arrived too late to use the pool. It looked really nice. small bathroom. Poor outdoor lighting along path to dining. Solar path lights are inexpensive and would provide safety. nothing. free breakfast was not very good. the pancakes were not fully cooked. coffie was weak. The restaurant need to be gutted. The carpet was old, tired and dirty. It smelled of old smoke and bad air freshener!. Only one set of towels for two people. TV and locks are old. Breakfast was dire - gravy and biscuits which looked like........!. no elevator to 2nd floor. resteraunt was dirty and food was not good. Photos online were deceiving. They made it seem as if this was a luxury hotel when in fact it was not. We were disappointed upon arrival. Breakfast staff was unorganized. Only 2 towels in room? A/C was old and noisy. Breakfast was terrible! Dinner and drinks were way overprised. The facility was dirty, smelled of stale smoke and in need of up-dating, including carpets, linens, etc. this motel apparently hasn't been updated in 50 years. the bathroom is a disgrace.
