Lo que la gente dice
Location was the big draw for us. We were attending a concert a block
away and this was a great inn to make our home base. Didn't get to
spend much time at the Inn, but it was quiet, comfortable, and
breakfast was good.
Charming Victorian built in 1880s...stepping back in time. Rooms were unique, clean, comfortable, quiet. Breakfast staff verrrry accommodating and made dee-lish breakfasts. Great location.todo comentarios »
The Garden Street Inn has a very convenient location, excellent breakfasts and is in a beautifully renovated, historic house. It is quiet in the evening but still close to the downtown SLO.
San Luis Obispo was a cute town. With good restaurants and shops. The location of The Garden Inn was perfect for walking in town. The Inn was comfortable and relaxing.
Beautiful house and grounds; staff are friendly and attentive; excellent breakfast; very comfortable bed; quaint and attractive; great location to theater and shopping.

The atmosphere was really nice. The bed was very comfortable,
breakfast good. They invited my son's family to come for
breakfast, no extra charge.
The staff was amazingly helpful. When we were hungry, they provided a snack! When we were too crowded, they offered alternate accommodations.
Terrific location in the heart of downtown, near many restaurants, bars,
shops, creek, friendly staff, lovely rooms, vintage decorating.
Location! Walk to everything..restaurants shopping - old town slo. close to beach Avila , Moro Bay, paso Robles and wine country.
Loved the location - within walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was great.
John was immensely helpful in recommending wineries to tour. We became members of Opolo Winery. Breakfast was a nice plus.
So quaint and right in the heart of SLO. In need to worry about parking. A darling place and well so reasonably priced.
Great downtown location.
Classic victorian atmosphere.
Tasty breakfast served in the front parlor.
The historical value of the property. The friendliness of staff. Good breakfast. Location.
The room decor theme- We had Cocoon. The staff were extremely friendly.
So close to downtown.

No TV in rooms was a nice change

Location, breakfast, size of room.
felt very safe...
It was right down town. the staff were friendly.
Location is excellent and breakfast was good.
comvenient, nice breakfast.
The staff were wonderful very helpful. Great suggestions for dining. Very nice room. Breakfast was wonderful, more than expected. Location couldn't be better.
The only complaint is the parking situation. Have to park in a garage
about a block away and there is a $7.50 charge. They really don't
seem to have other options, so we didn't complain, but we did have
to make a few trips back and forth.
The Inn is probably 125 years old, so the halls and tub/shower are somewhat narrow. This is charming but should be noted.
Had only one night there!.
The location being downtown was noisy on the weekend nights with Cal Poly in session. The inn is next to a parking lot where people were yelling, car alarms going off, general partying. Also we had a claw foot tub as a shower that didn't work very well.
We were charged $7.50 for parking overnight in the city parking
structure which we didn't park in. We parked in front of the hotel,
parking meter free from 6 P.M. to 9 A.M.
Being located so close to the bars of downtown, the evening was a little loud outside the room.
Street noise of people going home woke us up at 1:30 am on Sun and
continued for 45 mins. The windows were closed, but the noise was not
sufficiently muffled.
Nothing- was great for what it sold itself as.
Need better ice vending machine.
Leaky taps were frozen and we couldn't get them to move either way on or off.
No soap in our room.
They double charged us for parking.
Staff resolved these problems by crediting us back $35.
Bath tub/shower very unstable to use although very pretty to look at.
The street noise. Leaf blower early morning 6am.
The ash trays on the Back Porche needed to be emptied. We are non smokers and would have preferred a nonsmoking environment.
Shower was in a claw foot bathtub - bit difficult to get in and out, no place for shampoo & conditioner in the tub, just a small soap dish. No TV in rooms.
breakfast was moderate; mattress was a bit old/stiff.
This is something out of Garden Inn's control. But at 2 am we were woken by people partying in the parking lot just below our window.
- there was some room to room noise.
Nothing.
Lights not working in the bathroom and the lack of a mirror for shaving.
cheap bed linens and blankets, breakfast is very perfuntory given the size of the inn.
Old Victorian with no sound barriers in walls. We could hear neighbors, pipes from upstairs, and conversations in front common area from our room.
The cold water that wasn't.
i couldnt stay longer..
The parking situation. I was hastily persuaded into purchasing a parking space in the public parking garage for $25.00 a day. There are parking meters immediately surrounding the Garden Inn but I could have parked on a neighborhood streets 2 blocks away fro free.
Love the old house that is the "Inn." Although the room is old, and we love the charm of that, it could use a little facelift. Also, would have liked to have some sort of fruit with the breakfast.
The beds were very soft. The breakfast was lousy considering the cost of the room, the most expensive in our two week trip.
Room was not very clean, especially windowsills, light fixtures, window treatments, etc. Stained quilt, carpet, and chairs. Quilt was also torn.
Liked it all.
