The Holbrooke Hotel - Fotos
Lo que la gente dice
I loved the Holbrooke Hotel for its great central location in old Grass
Valley and for its rich lively California history. When I arrived on a
Sunday evening there was a Celtic band playing near the saloon inside
the hotel which was really cool...the historic elevator was still
working so I took it to my room on the 2nd floor, which was room where
the famous Lola Crabtree stayed in, and it was down the hall from the
Presidential suites. The room had a beautiful clawfoot bath tub, a
working flat. todo comentarios »
This is our 2nd visit to the Holbrooke Hotel. We came back because we enjoy the historical aspects of the hotel. If folks are looking for the Ritz-Carlton, this is not the place. Come for the olde time ambiance.
Characterful ambience with unique qualities associated with a historic, listed building. Claw foot bath a pleasure to look at and only somewhat challenging to shower in. Enjoyable dinner with attentive service.
Very comfortable bed with nice soft sheets and fluffy pillows. Picked Sunday night as the band wasn't playing. The room was nice & quiet and conducive to a good nights sleep.
the hotel is charming, built in the 1850s it is great fun to experience. Located in the center of town it makes walking everywhere very easy.
I loved the staff and the area. I live in Nevada City and had friends up for the weekend with my son also and it was just a great time.
Cute, spacious rooms, can have dinner and cocktails all in the hotel. Very charming and very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
Wife wanted to see a ghost. Great environment for that. The early 1900 setting was great even with the claw feet tub.
staff was very friendly. loved the hotel and its surroundings. it was close to a wedding we had to attend.
Relaxed atmosphere in a historical building. Great location in downtown Grass Valley, reasonable price.
Great place to stay and relax, rooms are comfy and cozy. Staff was great!!! Food was great,.
Perfect location for exploring the town, the claw foot tub, the old timey charm.
Helpfull and friendly staff, love the history of the hotel, great location.
comfy beds, claw foot tub, antique furnishings, charming, good location,.
Great Staff..Terry and Monte the bartender were AWESOME!!!.
Overall ambiance and friendliness. Liked music as well.
Historic.
Walking Dist from town. Close to hiking.
The staff was great and the dinner food was also!.
The staff was wonderful and the food excellent.

Old town lots of History.
the atmosphere.
charming.
Historic Hotel. For the most part it is up to date and well kept.
Quite nites,.comfortable bed.Friendly Bar.
Historical quality.
parking.
Nother at all.
I had dinner in the saloon (that was my choice) and the food was good
and reasonably priced but the bar tender/waitress was not a good
mix. I wold not choose to eat in the saloon again.
Arrived to cold room, heating system broken - resolved quickly with portable heater; no chairs in the room. Self-service breakfast quite limited in nature.
Room 11 has a dresser too close to the bathroom doorway. I bumped into the corner of the dresser when going into the bathroom. Would suggest moving in down a bit towards the window and TV.
It doesn't have a working elevator and getting up the stairs with luggage can be a challenge.
Nothing to dislike.
Having to call desk to adjust temperature but accepted the inconvenience that goes with a historic building.
Small room with very small shower. Noisy at night as the large parking lot is just outside the room.
For the price of the room breakfast could have been of better quality, Leaky faucets kept us up at night. A little dusty.
scary noises!.
First room was very cold. The. They moved us to another room hat was very hot.
Bed a bit rough on backs.
The so-called "breakfast" that was advertised with the room!.
Although it's advertised as air-conditioned rooms it was warm
and stuffy. We needed to use the fan the whole time there and it was
very noisy.
Bar service was spotty. We tried to order dinner in the bar. We got as far as the menu, but were pretty much ignored after that. We eventually moved to the dining room, which was very nice.
Bookit did a very poor job of reviewing the rooms we were lead to
believe each room had two queens-- that is not the case however
Holbrooke upgraded our rooms to a king and a hide-a-bed thanks Holbrooke
bookit do a better job.
expensive for my budget.
nothing.
While historic, the room was small for a couple. It was unusually hot that weekend, the room did not have individual room controls. It was freezing. Meanwhile my daughters room was hot.
The rms need some tlc,.little shakey.
bar noise at night and maintenance work.
no chair in room, slightly shabby.
