The scenic Dedham Vale, made famous through John Constable’s paintings, is 9 miles south of the property. Within the heart of the Vale is Flatford Mill, a grade I listed 18th century mill and cottage, also very prominent in Constable's work. The closest rail station is in Ipswich, 10 miles east of the property.

When we arrived,it was quite late and Perry made sure there was milk, tea and coffee. He had also got us some flap jacks for a late evening snack. He was super friendly, very helpful with suggestions of local sights to see. We would definitely stay here again. A wonderful experience. We felt as if we had wandered into a period drama. The house and its furnishings are beautiful. There is everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
