The hotel was charming and inviting. The location was perfect for us. I was traveling with my daughter visiting another child that is taking a gap year and is in the Oxford Tutorial College. she was able to get to us and we got around the town wonderfully. The staff were all helpful and informative. The environment was cozy and warm which was greatly appreciated because the weather was chilly and wet. Would definitely recommend to others.

Rooms were amazing- they had obviously spent some money. I loved that they were named after people like A.A. Milne (the room we stayed in. However, next time, I would like to be in either C.S. Lewis or J.R.R. Tolkien, as they taught my Grandpa!!

The rooms are quirky but incredibly comfortable with amazing views over the river - my room had four rooms with dual aspect. The jacuzzi was special and even the toiletries were excellent quality. The location cannot be faulted and the food is amazing. Every member of staff from reception to restaurant were attentive, polite and helpful. The staff welcomed us back for our 1st wedding anniversary with their friendly, courteus mannerm and a bottle of champagne in the room- we first stayed at The Old Bank last year ,having just got married, and they made our trip extra special by upgrading our room and again giving us champagne. that it is a converted jail and that it was in a Lewis episode. It was a
bit of a splurge & worth every penny! The bar was fantastic &
both bartenders that we encountered were quite lovely! We were treated
really well by both gentlemen. By far one of the best experiences
I've had in a hotel in the uk. I would love to come back & spend
more time.
