Having now tried one, I really think that apartments are the way
forward. It gives the feeling of home from home, without the daily
chores. It was very comfortable and clean and situated on a quiet
residential road. I had the use of a garden and french doors which was
really lovely. I loved the complete autonomy of being able to eat what I
wanted when I wanted, come and go as I pleased and to have more than
just the one room to spend my time in. I will definitely stay there

I was upgraded to a 3 bedroom townhouse because the flat that I had booked had a problem with it. This flat was wonderful - very spacious and comfortable and great location. The flat had everything that I needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. The heating was brilliant, which was really important as the weather was near or below freezing during my stay!.
That it was close to the shops and restaurants, also not to far away from the university.
Quite equipt kitchen, felt homely and welcoming.
Let us have an extension on check out time till 12.

Well impressed with how clean and tidy the flat was. We found a great place to eat down the road and the locals made us very welcome. Had a great time and will be staying there again some day.

Liked having the freedom of having an apartment rather than the one room as you would have in a hotel. Free wifi.

Location was good, price was good, bed comfy, free parking and wifi were good.

It was quite out of the way and would be quite hard to find, if you
didn't already know the area. This was fine with me, but may not
suit other travellers. Though food is obviously not provided, it would
be nice if there were some sachets of coffee and some teabags, as if
you are only staying for 1 night, you don't want to have to buy
them in. Also, though wi-fi was available, there were no details of how
to log into it.
It took two days and 4 attempts to get in touch with the right person to arrange to collect the keys. When I couldn't get access to the wifi, it took several hours to get the password, as the office had to get in touch with the ICT team in order to get it. This information should be readily available in the flat or e-mailed in advance.
No hair dryer looked everywhere for one! Ran out of the 1 toilet roll available so had to buy more! Parkings confusing to find and in an odd spot to where the apartment was not good when youve got a lot of bags to carry.
The front door lock is tricky, but can be mastered. Also do remember to bring your own toilet roll, toiletries, tea and coffee etc.
A drama to get in contact with the organisation that rents the appartements out. And that's important to get the key!!.
Cleaning was a bit poor - we found a cigarette butt unde rhte bed and a
used roasting tin in the oven that had not been washed, no tin opener!.
The back door was unlocked and I couldn't figure out how to lock it.
Since there was nobody on premises to ask, this made me feel insecure.

No kettle or coffee pot. only 2 disparate mugs.
Heating didn't come on in the apartment, however it was just warm
enough. Apartment location changed after booking, but we trusted it
would be convenient and a good standard of accommodation.
Wasn't clear as to the actual address ie house number. No one to meet you. Only contact the owner via text as they didn't answer their phone when rang.
No reply from owners. We phoned and emailed. We had no key, no idea of where the house was (just Sat Nav).No idea of house number (had to guess), and only found it by matching up descriptions/advice from others' reviews - and the "bullet hole" in the front window!

Kitchen poorly stocked on essentials.
Smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke, water in shower either very hot
or very cold. Light bulbs missing in some rooms.
Staff never replied to emails, texts or phone calls.
Had to buy toilet paper, decoration tatty in places, absence of staff (all communication by phone/text message).
Internal door locking mechanism very difficult to open from inside
the apartment - what if there was an emergency and one needed to
escape quickly?
Shower was next to useless.
No mirror in bathroom - all I wanted to do was have a shave!
Confirmation text did nid not make it clear which of the two apartments I had booked. No answer when ringing the helpline.
Kitchen utensils were missing, no cork screw for example and tv remote in bedroom was missing. Minor details.

Cracked front window, scruffy front, directions on website not very specific, no staff presence therefore no opportunity to pay on arrival/departure, password for wifi had to be requested, more a ground floor flat in need of some love than a 'city apartment'.
Rooms not serviced before or after we arrived the last occupants litter everywhere beds not made towels wet and on floor
We had to stay because it was to late to find other accommodation no answer to phone number for help
We will claim on Booking .com if we can for reimbursement
A real bad start to our holiday.
