  We booked a suite and it was worth every penny, great views great room great breakfast. We had a swim and had the pool to ourselves its a little dated and in need of some TLC but you would have to be a real winger to complain about this detail. The lifts worked fine but we opted to walk up the tastefully decorated stairs. Breakfast - Stayed for a weekend in February 2013 and we enjoyed every minute. Hotel very welcoming, clean, nice and warm. Restaurant is mega quirky and a joy to relax in. Leisure area utilised, sauna excellent combined with dips in the pool (Which was a bit fresh!) The breakfast was - delicious. Plenty of choice to be had both hot and cold. All in all a very enjoyable, relaxing stay and we will book again without hesitation!

  The Hotel is within walking distance of the centre of the town, but far enough out to be quiet. I enjoyed my first stay there so much, Ive revisited 3 years in a row. Although I havent made use of all the facilities, they do have their own laundry, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Friendly reception, free parking,had room 119 a twin with sea view to front and side , spacious well decorated with modern bathroom for £71 and a full English thrown in , me im not complaining.   I was bowled over by the friendliness and team-spirited nature of ALL of the staff I met - and also by their constant willingness to assist. Moreover, everyone was particularly welcoming to my two children (boys aged 14 and 11); which always makes a real difference to the holiday experience. All in all, I wished I - I originally picked the Hotel California because I liked the name, wanted to stay in Newquay and the price is a good value. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Interiors are beautiful. The dining room had lots of windows, so you can enjoy the scenery while dining. Beautiful view of the bay from the outside deck. The outdoor pool looked inviting, but the temperature was little to cool for me to try it. If I get a chance to go back to the U.K., I will definitely stay at the Hotel California
