The hotel is well located for exploring Newquay’s sandy surfing beaches and rocky coves. The hotel has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, plus a sauna. The air conditioned restaurant serves evening meals during the summer season.

What a joy this hotel and it's staff are!! Fantastic room with a superb view. Very good staff and management.the receptionist/barmaid. she was very friendly and helpful, trying to do two jobs and once and succeeded. Friendly efficient staff and good breakfast.It was quiet. Clean tidy rooms, excellent location, near the pier and town centre. Good breakfast all at a reasonable rate.

We got a complimentary upgrade to Honeymoon suite which had breath-taking views to the atlantic sea. The room was very beautifully decorated. The Bed Room With a View No 41. closeness to the town and beaches. Great view and location.The location.... Its right opposite the cliff that provides stunning views over the Atlantic..The breakfast room,lobby and common areas were excellent.The hostess for our breakfast was a joy!!!!. We could park and it was close to town centre. location. The view. Location. the only advantage was the sea facing room.the view from our room. still in the 70 ,s. Checking out. location.no hot meals before april 1st. No cooked breakfast - this was not pointed out at the time of booking ?. Shower was awful!. Lack of restaurant or even pub food / snacks in the hotel, esp during bad weather when we are stuck in our rooms. Absence of delivery food menus/contacts to call up if not able to go out. Worst thing is they do not have any restriction on the kind of guests they entertain. When we visited the bar, we were welcomed by stark naked man flashing his wee around much to our disgust!!. limited parking space. the fact that you could hear everything in the next room!!!! And a very small double bed.Reception never answers the phone!. The quality of the rooms were agonising..We hired 4 rooms and all of them were below the expected standard for the price we paid.Lights and kettles didnt work, carpets were dated, bed linen were not exactly clean/fresh. The rooms definitely need a complete makeover.Hotel is tired and needs to be redecorated , the indoor pool is so small, the walls are paper thin and you are constantly disturbed by people coming and going. indoor pool had tissue in it, beds were uncomfortable with lumpy pillows, one chair in the room had no seat support so it felt like you were sitting on the floor, tv only had set top ariel so very poor reception which changed everytime somebody moved in the room, £5 charge for a remote control that didn't work, a dressing table with no chair - a dated hotel needing urgent refurbishment. Lift to small bed most uncomfortable. Old fashioned, like a visit to your Grandma's, smells and all!!. - poor heating, the room was freezing. - the room was small, with the wash basin being in the room. The windows were not clean, which diluted the effect of having a sea facing room. The worst was that the glazing of the windows was poor, resulting in huge noise in the room and the window would not shut properly, letting in cold wind. the shower also was not working properly. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we returned to the Edgumbe hotel as we had spent our honeymoon there, I must be honest and we were not expecting a lot but the cooked breakfast was awful, it was dried up and bacon tough, egg tasted old, room not very clean a dead fly on bathroom window ledge was there when we arrived and after the next days cleaning there were 2 dead flies!!. bathroom and shower very poor. Was not informed that the spa facilities closed at 7 pm, could not comfortably use the bar as it had been rented out for a function which I was not informed of, there was a terrible amount of noise other guests until about 4:30am, and when I got up to try to use the spa facilities again I found them closed until further notice. Bed was uncomfortable, balcony door did not lock and staff unhelpful.Dirty rooms. No maid service. Extensive damp. Not particularaly friendly staff.
