The Bell Inn - Fotos
Lo que la gente dice
Extremely friendly and accomodating service - very relaxed and made you feel at home. Very good quality food. Lovely clean room with exposed brick walls and nicely chosen dark wood furniture. Very nice en-suite bathroom which had all the added extras you'd expect from a quality hotel. Very good location with great local amenities and restaurants plus in easy reach of other tourist towns in the Cotswolds. Extremely good value for money given the quality and location. todo comentarios »
Staff were very welcoming & helpful.
After a late return @ the Bell Inn in the night , we had a knock @1000 am to see if We still want breakfast ( served till 1000 am)
It was much appreciated as otherwise We would have missed it. Staff were all very friendly & welcoming. The Room was cosy & clean & plenty of electric heater to keep the room warm as it is an old style "cottagy" room. Loads of character.
We loved The Bell Inn. Our room was great - it was old stone and quite atmospheric...not a bland hotel. Bathroom was nice, clean. This Inn was the inspiration for The Prancing Pony in Lord Of The Rings and it doesn't disappoint if you are a fan. We had a few drinks in the pub too - lovely. And they had on a great female singer the evening we stayed.
Small family run Inn, centrally located, and good value for money. Not
the height of luxury, but much improved since the owner (Chris Horne)
has taken over the management from the previous managers. Staff were
ready to help, and booking a groundfloor room was done with ease.
It was a pleasure to stay there Very warm welcome every time I passes by the recaption wounderful smiling staff with great in house food even its very famous with local people. very nicely decorated walls in resturant.
Very good location, just 3 minutes walk from MIM railway station and against the inn there is the bus stop linking to other towns in Cotswolds. Staff is nice. We got a cottage at the 2nd floor and it was quite large.
From the moment we arrived the staff were more than helpfull ,the room
was very clean ,had a great nights sleep ,and have,nt had a full english
for many a year and I left nothing on my plate .excellent.
Large comfortable room. It was clean and all required facilities where available, centre of town location describe a a pub with rooms rather than a hotel just what we wanted.
A very large room with good facilities and a very comfortable bed. Excellent beer garden. Pleasant pub style ~ informal and friendly. Good breakfast. Good value for money.
cheerful friendly greeting. Comfortable, warm, large room, retaining traditional features. Good English breakfast.
Traditional local ales. Nice old pub.
Attractive location.
The cottage was clean and spacious and had everything necessary for a self-catering break. It was also very dog friendly. Staff were friendly and helpful always.
Quaint and comfortable room, but the staff at the bar was even better. So very helpful in every way.
Also an easy walk to the train station.
Location was excellent for acces to shopping, eating, market, train and buses. We were able to access the trail to the falconry also .
The cottage was well-appointed for a short stay. Quirky, comfortable, un-fussy, not chintzy, warm and had plenty of room for 4.
Bit of dust here and there, but loved staying there, staff were great, very friendly and helpful. We will be going back.
Value for money, friendly staff, great breakfast, central location, comfy beds, clean. Would stay again.
Good food, great stay in original "hay loft" very roomy, comfortable and quiet.
Staff very amicable.
The breakfast was good and had a lovely family feel. Owner very friendly
Tea and coffee facilities.
Lovely place excellent breakfast, great curry house round the corner!!! Would definitely stay again.
We loved the location and the room was perfect and large. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was large, warm, easy to access and comfortable. Good atmosphere in the bar.
Friendly, helpful efficient staff. Nice breakfast. Nice room. Free wifi.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
The cottage was lovely the furniture and beds were comfortable.
Friendly Staff,Ideal location for the touring the Cotswolds.
Lovely old inn with large, cozy rooms in heart of Cotswolds.
Staff were extremely friendly and accommodation very nice.
nice friendly welcoming staff and good value nice food.
The location was very good, central to the Cotswolds.
Very friendly & very good value. Would recommend.
Lovely old building and very nice rooms.
super service , very friendly staff.
good cottage with nice facilites.
Small but quaint accommodation.
Location, friendly atmosphere.
To best describe:quaint town.
Friendly and helpful staff.
good range of breakfast.
Good and frendily stay.
Our room was in a converted outbuilding. It was warm comfortable,
although both beds made a lot of
noise when you moved and well
provided with tea and coffee. There
was a nice en suite bathroom with
a full size bath The meals were good. I would be happy to stay at
this inn again.
Authentic cottage accommodation- we only wanted a room and this was a 2 bed cottage with living room and kitchen so much more than we needed!
Excellent sheets and plenty of hot water.
Room (name broadway) was very clean & tidy, spacious & full of
charm.breakfast was v good, full English + other options,.
Rustic and genuine local good nature. A short walk to the railway station. Short walk for rental car pick up.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good 'home cooking'. I had an enjoyable stay.
Large room, well equipped and comfortable, large bed.
Good breakfast menu.
Location of hotel is good for anywhere in the Cotswolds.
The location, friendliness and relaxing atmosphere.
In a very central location for all local amenities.
The atmosphere. The breakfast. The location.
Nice, quiet room considering it was a pub.
A little more sound-proofing between guest rooms wouldn't go amiss but this was a minor point in an otherwise excellent experience.
On the negative side,
The shower was useless.
It was just a trickle.
We unfortunately booked two nights, the first of which was during Stowe
horse fair, and all the local pubs were closed because of trouble on
previous night with the visiting gypsies, so there was nowhere within
walking distance to go for a drink. But the landlord bought us a drink
on the second night to apologise, which was very nice.
no wifi in room.
Bathroom was a bit small, no wifi signal in the room.
We were very happy with the establishment, but customers who want a very quiet room should probably think twice ~ because there are pub customers having a drink outside (in warm weather) and some nights there is live music.
nothing to say.
The breakfast was pretty bad and the girls waiting the table were even worse. But hey, that didn't deter us from the wonderful 2 night stay.
TV reception was very poor, wifi available only in the pub area, and not in our room , spiders set up housekeeping above the head of my bed.
Nothing.
Shower could have been better.
We didn't like that we could only get internet in the bar area. The extra bed is a pull out couch that is extremely uncomfortable. Everything else was good to excellent.
I have nothing negative to say.
Wifi signal could have been better.
The bathroom in the cottage leaves a lot to be desired. It could do with a complete makeover. The appearance of the cottage was spoiled by the dirty front door .
Would have liked to have been told before booking that there was no
meals during the day-evening.as they did not have a chef.
What is there NOT to like?.
bit of traffic noise but not unexpected as busy through route.
No Wifi in rooms.
nothing , all good.
security is not perfect.
Checking-out at 10am was a little too early after going to a wedding party.
No Wi-Fi in room.
Jam sachets at breakfast. Takes a good pub downmarket.
There is no on sight parking.
If you are staying on a Monday
night you have to wait until early
evening to find unrestricted free
on street parking because market
stalls are contructed from around
5pm for the Tuesday street market
in the main street car park. The
court yard adjacent to our room
could do with a bit of a tidy up.
Too cold to have a shower as no heating in bathroom.
Although we did not request a kitchen it does need up-dating.
On our visit on sunday we went to the bar at 9.30pm but pub was
closed,we heard it closed at around 8pm,also on that day one of the
customers was using the f word a lot,we found out later he was one of
the chefs that work there.not nice in front of customers.
As a business traveller I would expect to get a VAT receipt. I got a poorly hand-written one only after requesting it.
Unable to park near the hotel.
The hotel felt like it was either just opening or getting ready to close, it wasn't the best organised place I have stayed but overall good enough for the price I suppose.
A few defects in the room.
Room needed dusting and de cobwebbing. Pub closed earlier than
advertised and didn't serve food although advertised.
The room was dusty. Baked bean is basic but they said out of stock. We were the first table in the morning but the staff served the second table first and even serve them with baked beans!!!.
Breakfast was a little disappointing. Pub was dead for a Friday, but at least it meant I wasn't kept awake.
