The Angel & Blue Pig - Fotos
Lo que la gente dice
The room was really thoughtfully decorated with themes based around the sea and Angels. We ate evening dinner at the hotel and the food was absolutely first class. Excellent crab and salmon fishcake to start, my partner had wilton and hazelnut mushrooms, both excellent. Sea Bass main course was also top rate. My feeling was that the owners were trying very hard to please, although in some areas were not quite sure how to. Overall though a really lovely experience. todo comentarios »
This is a listed building recently refurbished. We had a 'Superior Kingsize' that was very comfortable. The hotel had a friendly atmosphere, mainly due to their staff who were always helpful and cheerful. The restaurant was excellent and great value due to the discount offered to residents. The High Street location is convenient for browsing the local shops and exploring the harbour and coastline. We shall certainly visit again. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom were comfortable and stylish. The little extras in our room (chocolates, cafetiere, cosy white dressing gowns and white company products) were all much appreciated. Our buffet breakfast was of a high standard and offered a variety of options, all of which were fresh and well presented. All the staff were considerate, polite and helpful.
I had a continental breakfast. It had lovely bread rolls, ham and cheeses to choose from. Excellent service and very nice dining area. Superior single bedroom was very quirky with very unusual room and bathroon fittings. Fantastic location and I would definately stay there in future.
Every member of staff, whether morning or night, were cheery & genuine in manner.
Room was very welcoming & clean. Food was fantastic & we received 20% discount in restaurant for staying there.
Ideal location, in high street, with short walk to Quayside.
Good location for sea trip to the Isle of Wight and to watch the boats
in the marina. Only a few miles from the New Forest so best of both
worlds. Our room was fabulous and the inn itself is charming. Food
excellent. Good secure car park at the rear of the inn.
We found the hotel comfortable and the staff very pleasing. Hotel so convenient on the high street for shopping and of course the harbour. We used to have a boat in the Hamble River and spent many happy times in Lymington so very charming.
The location is excellent right on the high street. Food was also very good in the evening, & breakfast was also good, lovely toast! Nice decor, a nice homely feel with open fire in the bar/eating area. Would come again.
The resturaunt was really nice with a very wide choice of dishes. I really liked all the small extra's such as cookies and sweets in the rooms. The fact that each room was named and the angel theme continued was a surprise.
loved the decor of the rooms - especially the Angel wings on the wall!! a nice touch was the home biscuits that were in the welcome pack!! - a very individual place and we will come back again - excellent breakfast!.
Really nice Hotel / pub, rooms are great nice touches, staff are very helpful, food and cocktails good too, a short walk to the seaside too - nice for a relaxing break and a wander about.
Very polite and helpful staff. Lovely room - nicely decorated, spotless, fluffy bathrobes, treats, tea and coffee, quality bathroom products. Good breakfast in bright, pleasant room.
Lovely room, very nice little courtyard out back. Private parking (with barrier but not necessarily secure). Lovely food and bar area. Right on the high st so excellent for shops.
Great food, extremely helpful staff. Great decor and warm, comfortable rooms. We stayed at the front of the hotel and weren't disturbed by the Saturday market traders setting up.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. I always like to have tea/coffee in the room. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed being able to sit in the bar and enjoy some good wine!.
Room was comfortable and had character.
Bar/restaurant were intimate
Main courses were excellent
All staff were friendly helpful

Very friendly and welcoming staff.
High Quality Furnishings.
Good car park at rear.
Outdoor seating area at back was spacious.
Location on High Street quiet during night.
The hotel itself.. wonderfully chic and understated, down to earth, clean and feeling of goodwill pervading. Lovely food - ate in dining room twice and breakfast good.
nice place, well designed rooms, really clean, good location, good breakfast (continental included), nice breakfast room overlooking Lymington High St, free car park.
Very nice room, well decorated. Nice touches like the ground coffee and chef-made biscuits.
Enjoyed the evening meal. Good beer too.
Excellent staff, good food at breakfast & evenings, good real ale. Good position for exploring Lymington & surroubding area.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed and well-appointed room. Good location in town but very close to the water and the New Forest.

Brilliant staff; lovely rooms; great food; superb location near New Forest; charming little town; excellent value for money.
Clean, large, individual, comfortable rooms in a real pub. Great

& helpfulness of the staff. Lovely breakfast.
Stayed there for the second time and even better than the first. Everything from breakfast, the room, all excellent.

Loved the decor in the bedrooms and communal areas and the atmosphere of the communal areas was very good too.

The Angel and Blue Pig want to get it right. The ambiance is very good and the staff exceptional.
Beautiful decor in room.
Very comfortable bed..
Lovely friendly atmosphere.
excellent dinner.
Home made shortbread in the tea service of the room.
Fresh ground coffee.
Large room size.
Decor and size of bedroom and bathroom. Attentiveness and friendliness of staff. The food!!.
the decor was modern and stlish and yet still preserved the hihstoric feel of the building.
On arrival the hotel met all our expectations. The hotel was exactly as
it was advertised.
Very pleasant and attentive staff, décor of the bedrooms and the atmosphere in the bar.
Fantastic rooms, bar and restaurant. Nice little touches in the room. Great location.
Loved the location and the style of the room. Bathroom was lovely, wonderful views.
Great location in high street plenty of good food and well informed friendly staff.
Beautiful bedroom and very comfortable kingsize bed. Linen and towels, top quality.
Lovely room, attentive staff, excellent food in the restaurant, additional extras.
lovely breakfast and ambience, lovely touches in the room, would stay again.
Very well appointed great location.
Best snaggers for breakfast I gave had.
The bedroom was comfortable and well furnished
The maitre d was very good.
We stayed in a room at front of hotel and it was noisy at night. The breakfast was a little chaotic, as if they had never done it before. No cutlery to serve any of the buffet with and had to be asked to refill juices etc. Given the beautiful food the previous evening it was a little disappointing.
Was a little noisy early in the morning due to deliveries - but it is a High Street location and was to be expected. The car park was difficult to find initially but very useful. A plan on the website would be helpful. There was nowhere within the shower cubicle to place any shower products.
Noisy extractor fan from a kitchen downstairs but it stopped after 11 pm.
Fancied a cooked breakfast some mornings but we would have had to pay
extra for this. We must have missed that only continental breakfast was
included in the room rate. Some of the staff were not very friendly or
informative. We felt we were being a nuisance sometimes. However Sam h
was absolutely lovely! We had to move rooms due to a plumbing problem
that kept us awake for 2 nights. Bit of a pain to shift our stuff to the
next floor down but we did sleep ok as a result so fine in the end.
Due to the character of the hotel we found the rooms very warm,so lovely later in the year when we need a cosier feel. Also duvets on the bed perhaps need to be of lighter quality in the summer months. We loved the room itself and design so different feel to run of the mill hotels, certainly a hit for future holidays on the south coast and will recommend to others. Very good choice on the evening menu but continental breakfast needed more choice.
Bathroom needed a new lick of paint.
nothing was wrong about the place.
Nothing.
Noisy at the front of a night, plenty of stairs to upper levels. No problem for us but may be for others.
Some street noise form about 6am
Starters are not the chef's strength
Serious shortage of red wine!.
Inadequate storage in room. Minimal hanging space for clothes and virtually no drawer space.
Continental Breakfast had very little choice - e.g.greater variety of cold meats would have been better.
The lovely staff seemed rushed off their feet.. particularly our breakfast waitress. Also concerned that she had to deal with the fact that there was no water in the hotel bedrooms on the hottest day of the year. No-one else was around to handle this.
i would prefer a shower instead of a bath tub (or at least a hand shower in the bath tub) - guess i just had the wrong room for that.
An extractor fan outside the kitchen (below our room) came on about 2am and was very noisy - kept me awake for at least an hour.
The room doors tended to slam shut which was annoying.
Noise from outside extractor unit outside our bedroom.
Room can be quite noisy, as it's right on the High Street and deliveries take place to shops all through the night.
Expensive
Small room & bathroom
No phone in room.
Traffic noise in front bedrooms; breakfast finishes too early (we're on holiday, for goodness sake).
Cooked breakfast extra.
The generator (?) noise outside my room overnight making sleep difficult
but this was eased by the provision of earplugs for remainder of stay.
Would have appreciated shelves/chest of drawers.
Nothing.
Would have liked to know at booking that the the front bedrooms would be affected by the very early noise of the market as we are not from the area we were unaware of this weekly market.
For us there were no bad points.
Having to pay extra for cooked breakfast. Would have liked a pot of coffee at breakfast.
expensive food and drink
noisy due to central location.
I had assumed that full breakfast was included-had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast which is unusual. Needs to be pointed out by waiting staff on arrival so you dont order it without realising you will pay extra.
Bathroom was very small and the lighting in the room was faulty and not
corrected...but they gave us a free bottle of wine to compensate,
parking at rear was tricky to find and you need a code to lift the
barrier which they didnt tell us.
There was a draft coming through my bedroom window but then I live in a hot climate so feel every draft.
No shaver plug in room.
only a continental breakfast included in the room cost.
Traffic noise. Needs better sound proofing.
Small things- like lack of any drawers to unpack clothes (there was only hanging space); Lack of mirror where there was a plugpoint for hairdryer; Lack of any tissues or soap (toiletries were provided for the shower and bath but not for the washbasin); Bedroom located on top floor under the roof and very hot, but noisy if we opened the window so sleep was difficult- a fan would have been ideal.. (well, we did pick the hottest week of the year!!).
When booking on line for a table the reservation stated a la carte menu
but as it was Sunday the a la carte menu was not available.
No draws in the room for small items of clothing.
Early noise from market setting up on Saturday.
Very little storage space in the room,- why was there not a sngle chest of draws?? alaso the lighting in the room was really quite bad. Very difficult for my wife to get ready at night using the mirrors.
limited breakfast choice.
breakfast
teething problems with newly renovated rooms
outside noise in the early morning.
Well the road is noisy but I guess it comes with the location..
The cheese board at dinner was poor in quality, badly presented and not a patch on the rest of the meal
The en suite shower was cramped and poorly laid out.
