Lo que la gente dice
The unique character of the hotel has been preserved throughout its refurbishment, the room was clean with an exceptionally comfortable bed with fresh, clean and cosy linen. Traditional english breakfast was cooked and served by the friendly staff. We would recommend this hotel to any looking to stay in the Glastonbury area. While staying in Glastonbury, we went on a walk around the town and visited local shops, we also took the 1 mile trek to the Tor which was amazing, we also went to see the springs and enjoyed some of the local ciders.todo comentarios »
Staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The food was especially good (I only had dinner, so I can't report on the breakfast... but I particularly enjoyed my dinner). Location is great. Full of atmosphere and history, excellent, friendly staff, great breakfasts... thoroughly recommended.Friendly and helpful reception. very good evening meal menu and an excellent choice for breakfast. Everything! The hotel is unique and extremely comfortable. The staff are excellent.staff were all fantastic! lovely friendly atmosphere :o). Lovely hotel centrally located in centre of Glastonebury. Atmosphere and history. Very comfortable, unusual and atmospheric hotel.Very family friendly. We liked the fact that breakfast was available until 10am.The staff were very friendly and approachable and went out of their way to be helpful. Friendly staff, comfy rooms. Being in Glastonbury. We were put in a very nice room despite them not knowing that we were booked in. I am sure we had an upgrade.Friendly and helpful staff, historic building, very good dinner and breakfast. Staff were friendly and the hotel had a nice relaxed atmosphere aboutit.very clean, manager very helpful--saw to our TV issue himself historic. Convienience for the event at the Abbey. Old world charm, with modern comforts. I liked the charm and character of the place. It was just what we would expect from a hotel built in the 1400's to be; minimally outfitted rooms with rich old features in the pub downstairs. We also thought the staff was friendly and helpful especially Graham at the reservation desk. He was quite busy as he also acted as bar tender, our breakfast waiter, and our car-park attendant. Great guy!. We stayed in the Henry VIII room in the old section. The room including the 4-poster bed was beautiful with a real period feel, and the shower was large with decent pressure. Giving some of the rooms names instead of numbers made it feel like a very individual experience. All in all about as far away as you can get from the Holiday Inn, and for a competitive price. Good quality breakfast. Staff were nice and friendly, room was clean. Price nice, hotel very nice in terms of look and age, the style of it.I liked the old character and the food was fantastic. I thought the decor was great and the beds were really comfortable. the character of the hotel and the friendly staff. Very friendly and accomodating. The authenticity and aura of the building - fantastic! The staff were very friendly. Substantial breakfast kept us going most of the day. We would have liked to sit and had another meal in the pub as the food looked lovely, but we never got round to it as it was always full!!. Very wonky floors but it's a very old building! Brand new bathroom with a brilliant shower. Bags of character. New management/owners trying hard to please, would recomend hotel has a great deal of history and charm.the room we had was very nice and the food was excellent. Breakfast was delicious, staff were warm and friendly with a 'home-from-home' style. Location was perfect for my needs. Beautiful building.the oldness of the building, the atmoshere of the hotel, the quality of the bar food and real ale, value for money. The room was lovely. Really nice old fashioned pub with wooden beams and character. Location in Glastonbury for a family wedding.A beautiful period hotel. Food in restaurant good. very characterful. Breakfast and good parking facilities.friendly staff and good food. food, very friendly staff. The food was very good. Character of building - Staff very helpful.central, comfortable, good value. halloween celebrations. Historic building and central location. Leaving.......More free parking bays would be helpful. It's a bit difficult to get a large suitcase up and down the winding stairs, but I absolutely understand why a lift wouldn't be possible... next time I'll just pack less :-). The heating was a bit vigorous. Would prefer beds without footboards but thats my choice to stayhere anyway. We would have liked a larger time slot for breakfast. Neither the TV nor the hairdryer worked.Bathroom could have been better, black mould around the bath. Minor niggle: only a few channels on the TV worked. While we didn't come here to watch TV, it shouldn't be offered if it doesn't work properly. And the coffee at breakfast was so awful we resorted to using two sachets of instant coffee from our room. However, the rest of breakfast was great, so don't this put you off overly much.TV didn't give a clear picture, sound fine but pic fuzzy. Room was over the bar patio area so until that area shut at 12 was no chance of getting to sleep earlier due to the patrons (fair enough but next time would ask for room elsewhere in the building. The bed whilst very comfy had a footboard and as I am 6'3 meant i could not stretch out. At 3am i gave up and put mattress on floor and was fine. we stayed in a room at the front and the room was very bright from the street and hotel outside lights they need black out fabric backing the blind. The staff were polite but when we left we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay.the bar shut at eleven on a saturday night. The mattresses could have been a softer/newer. Some of the windows were not double glazed so we could hear the jolly folk outside on the streets/in the pubs very clearly. The curtains did not cover all of the windows.Unfortumately the room could have done with a little more cleaning, especially the bathroom. my two critisisms are lack of parking and menu selection. Lack of parking and noise from outdoor seating area below my room (I had to have my window open due to hot weather. Access to the hotel is not separated from access to the public house below so I was concerned about the possibility of non-residents (or indeed intruders) gaining access.lack of parking at the hotel. The was no private parking spaces and we were unable to get out of thehotel at 8am in order to put money in the car park meter. It took us along to time find the document with the security lock number on and thispresented a serious fire hazzard. The breakfast wasn't great and the cutlery was dirty. You could hold the sugar bowl upside down with the spoon in it it was so old!. Spiral Stairs not amenable to carrying heavy suitcases up two floors. Confusing breakfast time on Saturday that was 8.30 to 9.30 not the previous day's 8.00 to 9.00 - to be told that we were down half an hour too early for breakfast on our departure day was not welcome. Being a 'medieaval hotel' the bedroom floor sloped but the large matress upon a smaller box spring led to uncomfortable nights.Television was not working. I would have liked a reduction in the pricehowever the day we checked out, the only staf member on site was thekitchen chef!. Heating seemed to have broken down in room and could not be fixed. Had to rely on small convector heater. allgetting a bit worn out. would have liked more flexibility with breakfast time. we had to change rooms twice.1,tv fault(pointed out by manager) 2,very hot, shower cold, no hot water, poor lighting,2 bulbs on main light out, reported but no action.3 ok but same lighting problem. Little touches could be improved ie supplying a hairdryer, a mattress that fits the width of the bed, a shower curtain that isn't falling apart. Its an old building and the floors are not level and so is the bed, bedside table and the sideboard, the cups slipped off the table, we slept like on a hillside . Room servicing was not 100%, Sunday breakfast was late - no staff!!. Poor, stale coffee making ingredients. standard of room very poor, and we understand room was overdue for refurbishment.Room was not properly serviced - only one lightbulb out of 3 worked and the extractor fan in the bathroom was broken. Cooked breakfast was not very nice - not surprising when all we could hear was the constant "ping" of the microwave. Staff were pleasant but service was rather haphazard. For the price I would expect a lot more. The cleanliness of the room was terrible. Two out of three of the main lightbulbs didn't work. Maybe they were trying to hide the dust and cobwebs....!.
