  We very much enjoyed our stay at the Black Swan & found the staff very friendly & helpful, the atmosphere cosy & relaxing & the food to a high standard. The whole hotel was imacculately clean & nicely furnished. The location was in a small, quiet & picturesque village far enough into the countryside to provide good views bu... lo que la gente dice » t close enough to the main roads to be a good base for travelling into the heart of the Lake District. We would definitely stay there again! - Angie the owner greeted us and was very helpful telling us of walks in the area. Food was excellent and the bar had a lovely friendly atmosphere. The poached eggs for breakfast were superb. A wonderful place to break our journey on the way to Scotland could have done with a longer stay.
