With comfortable, well-equipped en suite accommodation and traditional charm, this lovely country inn has an idyllic location, with the Long Mynd Hills and the Cardingmill Valley as a beautiful backdrop. With a peaceful, tranquil location in the heart of the Shropshire Hills, this traditional country inn is perfect for a relaxing break or as a comfortable base from which to enjoy some of the region’s wonderful walks. The inn is quiet and relaxing, but has a convenient location on the main A49 road between Craven Arms and Church Stretton. The inn has 12 fully equipped en suite rooms, each with a TV. Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout and disabled facilities are also available. There is a residents' lounge with a large flat-screen TV and board games. The inn also has lovely beer gardens, a children’s play area and camping. The à la carte menu offers tasty home-cooked food and the inn’s famous carvery is available day and night.

very nice stay, thoroughly enjoyed it and staff were very friendly. The carvary. The friendliness of the staff. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It made for a relaxed stay. The food was excellent value for money. location it was not far from where i was fishing. A nice relaxing atmosphere. Nice clean room. Good breakfast.

It was convenient for us, and provided reasonable, basic accommodation.The staff were welcoming and the Inn was quite attractive. Rooms were comfortable and clean and staff were friendly.not a lot. A couple of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff were wonderful, trying their absolute best in very difficult circumstances (see below). Nice bar and restaurant area.Food was good. the food was excellent. The handmade chips with steak as advertised were not real handmade chips. Breakfast could have been more varied to cater for those who do not like/want traditional English breakfast.Only that the room was noisey because of the traffic passing so near to the hotel. Only at breakfast, 8.00-9.00am and didn't get any until 8.30am. No real shower facilities in bathroom only shower head attachment totaps no shower curtain or fitting on wall for shower head. although comfortable and value for money, room and surrounding areas were looking tired and in need of basic refurbishment.Somewhat shabby, with old decor. Although pleasant, the staff didn't know what they were doing. Breakfast selection poor, grapefruit juice off. Poor bedroom lighting, no shower head attachment on wall or shower curtain. Bottle recycling lorry at 5 am Friday.The service was not very efficient. We requested breakfast for 07:45 as we had to be on site by 08:30 and it was late both the days we stayed there. site; ambience; poor value breakfast. Some decor is very poor but the room was very clean. The bath tap had a shower attachment but no holder or shower curtain - hence only a bath was possible. Breakfast is only served between 8.00 and 9.00 am. I mentioned that I needed to leave on each of the 2 mornings at 8.30, but on the first morning the landlady had to be woken up at 8.10 by a member of staff to get me breakfast. Too late!. under staffed and carvery was poor. We were disturbed late by people arguing outside our bedroom window as they left the hotel, using abusive language and smashing glasses. A car screeched away from the car park - all went quiet. About an hour later it all started again as the car returned - more abuse and smashing of glass. In the morning there was still broken glass on the carpet at the bottom of the stairs. The gas supply had been terminated (we believe because of non payment of bills). So there was no cooked breakfast on either morning of our two day stay, no evening meals available on the first night and only a very limited "microwave" menu on the second night. Management were conspicuous by their total absence, so negotiating a discount for lack of facilities was difficult.Room was tired looking, unbearably hot room with no air conditioningor fan available, impossible to get a taxi or even a taxi numberfrom staff. The accomodation and the public areas are very tatty.the room the looked and was dicribed bettter on web site then it looked in real life, the bed was to hard, tv in room was to small and was about 30 years old!! and they advertised that wifi was free but couldnt find a conection anywere especially in room!!.
