This small, family-run guest house is situated in the quieter North Shore area of Blackpool, less than 2 miles from the town centre. It is a 5-minute walk from the beach, and offers free Wi-Fi. Free parking is available at a nearby location.
Rooms at The Oakland Guest House are simply designed, and come with a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Each also features tea and coffee-making facilities and fresh towels are supplied daily.
There is a large communal lounge for guests to relax in, which has a TV and a dining area. You can bring your own food into the dining area, or order from a take-away menu until 22:00. Two cafés and selection of pubs can be found within the local area, which provide breakfast and hearty meals.
The guest house is located one road back from the promenade, meaning trams and buses are within easy reach to take you into Blackpool, or a brisk stroll along the beach. Blackpool Zoo is around 5 minutes’ drive away, and you can visit nearby Stanley Park, with its tennis courts and boating lake.

Its a small family run place. They are all really friendly and very ready to cater to needs. Very knowledgeable on the area. We told them that we were going to be there later than the check in time and the owner waited up for us which was very good service. Also as it is a small place you are recognised and listened to.
Everything about The Oakland, from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left was just perfect for our requirements.. a most welcoming guest-house in all areas. Suzanne was great, extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were great, comfy beds and very clean. Tea and coffee available at leisure! The ensuite was great too, lovely shower and bath. Rooms had good size television. Overall a 5*!.
Suzanne and her mother were perfect hosts. Couldn't do enough for you. Guest house just round the corner from tram stop and for £3.50 a day, you can get on and off as many times as you like. Cafe on corner very good too.
the hotel was a very nice and a pleasure to stay in, the room we stayed in was quite big and the design was pretty too. also the staff was very nice as were the guests staying in the hotel at the same time as us.
Family run guest house, situated just off the promenade so no problems with parking which is why we booked it.

Couldn't think of one thing I didn't like.
The only drawback was the shower was a bit temperamental. Obviously no bar or breakfast, bit this isn't a problem as everything you would want is nearby, a nice café, late bars etc.
Location was a little far out if you don't like walking, though to be fair, the tram and buses run practically past the front door!!!.
