  The old city of Mardin ended up being one of the best places we visited in Turkey and the hotel likewise one of the best we stayed in. It is ideally located both to explore Mardin and for its views over the Mesopotamian plain below. We stayed in a deluxe double room, 207 and it was terrific. From several rooms, terraces and the breakfast room there are great views over Mesopotamia. Rooms are spacious, very clean, good bath rooms, heating, TV, WiFi and some have a balcony. The breakfast buffet was very good. Staff was helpfull and could speak English or German. The hotel offers a car with an experienced driver for 60 Euros a day plus fuel and lunch for the driver. We strongly recommed to use this service as it is difficult for foreigners

  I like the feeling of beeing in a private house where everything is cared for by the owner or caretaker in a personal way. As a single traveler it's an advantage to stay in a Konak. Jale's cooking was incredible! The hummus that she made was the best! I can't stop raving about the food! The Konak was definitely interesting. It was nice to stay in a traditional house and actually get to interact with the owners. I really felt like we were welcomed as guests of the family and not just transient guests.
