Viking Nature Resort - Fotos
Lo que la gente dice
This hotel is not for everyone. But I personally loved it as it was what I expected. Very in touch with nature - everything is made from wood. No tv in our room and only a fan. Bathroom was a room next door but still part of our hut - no drain in the shower only cracks in the floorboards to allow the water to get out. While showering I could look out the window at the ocean.
Do not stay here if you don't like steps or walking up hill as most rooms are a work out to get to.

First we arrived to tonsai pier and took a longtail boat to reach the resort, it's only 100 baht.
It has a small private beach, the room is big and clean, bed has a net for mosquito, its reaaly nice to rest in the hammock in front of the bungalow. Our room was around 5 min walk to the reception between the town and it's own private beach. It's a nice and safe walking in the forest. Around 20 min walk to the town through a narrow path with up and downs. Around 10 min walk to long beach. For sin.
This hotel is truly eco one, it is designed so unusually and cosy, separated among the jungle on some kind of rock. It is not far from Tonsai, about 15 minutes and it was no difficulties for us to get to the hotel at evening except the case when we met a snake in darkness. So be careful have a small lamp with you always, or at least on your telephone.
Also it must be said that the place of this hotel is much better then it is on the long beach. The way to the long beach is really awful, uncomf.
PERFECT location! Located right on one of the prettiest/isolated beaches on Phi Phi but also within walking distance of Tonsai Bay and the main part of town (as long as you don't mind hiking a bit through the jungle). Great for young travelers and especially couples; I plan to come back with my boyfriend. Lovely bungalows that feel very Thai authentic. Great and reasonably priced breakfast. Friendly/helpful staff. I don't really have any complaints about this place!! I truely enjoyed my stay an.
This is a great place on the beach. The Bamboo huts are cool and the orchids and towels presented neatly on the bed when you arrive is a nice touch. The beach itself is fantastic. Secluded and great for swimming. Went snorkeling with Viking on the longboat and it was brilliant. By far better than going with a big fast speedboat.
FYI it's about 20-25mins walk to town along a forest path. it's a nice walk (but can be tiring after a hike up to the viewing point), and it's lit at evenings.
Wonderful staff .. If you are planning to get away from it all , this is the place for you , the rooms are a little small in comparison but make up for it with the view which is spectacular, it's a a good 30 minute walk from town , so be prepared , the food at the I house restaurant is affordable and very good , they have an amuse bouche of platters in the evening for guest free of cost . All in all highly recommended.
The Viking is located at a perfect spot:close enough to the centre(10-
15min walk on a path through a nice scenery, not difficult) and far
enough to have peace and relax. Each bungalow has privacy. We loved the
hamak on the balcony! The staff tries to help you as much as they can
understand. They have a free Thai tasting buffet every night! This place
has really a character! We would recommend this place!.
- deluxe room was cute and large
- breakfast included in the price of deluxe room was very tasty and beautifully made
- Long beach down to the other side was the best beach in Thai
- nice road to town with a lot of big crabs where a small bridge. look out! =)
- special thanks to the young man at the reception
- hot water for 24 hours only in deluxe
- beautifull bed
- Phi-Phi is the best island!!!.
Best place! Beautiful little bungalows surrounded by trees but only a
few meters away from gorgeous beaches and the turquoise-coloured sea.
The restaurant serves delicious food for reasonable prices. The pier and
shops are in walking distance. But they pick you up at the pier with a
longtail boat for free. The bungalows are small but clean and
traditionally furnished. They also offer nice trips.
Loved it...absolute paradise...my little bungalow was set just above the
water and I had wonderful views of Phi Phi Bay through the trees. I
liked how it was away from all the crowds, it felt like you were on your
own desterted island. Private beach, hammocks, crystal clear water and a
sense of remoteness even though it was walking distance away from phi
phi township...will definately return!.
We got the standard huts, big balcony with hammock, hot water private bathroom. All the food we had was good. Good location, can walk to long beach and to town. Note the walk to other locations and some rooms is dirt track over tree roots etc. not a problem for me, but keep in mind. Also be wary of giving the captain to many Long Island iced teas....
It's a nature hotel with each house in the mountain and decorated
with bamboo furniture. It feels like u live the same as local Thai did.
It's close to the long beach and quite with appropriate distance to
the crowd of tourists and souvenior stores. I will come back to this
place for my next trip to phi phi.
The best place to stay in PHI PHI. located inbetween forest and beach. away from the busy Tonsai pier, but if you want to walk to town, you can. beautiful private beach.
Definitely my top pick of all the resort we stayed at. Free pick up with taxi boat from Tonsai Pier.
This hotel is interesting. Staff from the hotel picked us up from the
pier and took us to their beach by boat (fun experience :) and it's
free) Staff are all so willing to help. They have their own beach and
pretty close to the Long Beach.
the deluxe room is fabulous: design of the room -big size ,nature ,romantic , love those rooms built by wood ,facing the sea with hammock. food is nice, close to tongsai pier and phi-phi lay island which is the most beautiful place there.
I loved the room with the view + the hammock, and the feel to be in the wild - just a couple of meters away from the beach.
In general it's a cool place to stay, and it provides the conditions to meet some other backpackers.
It was a nice place away from the crowded part of the Island. Food of the restaurant was very good and quite cheap. Nice cozy little strip of beach just in front of the restaurant was a very good place for relaxation.
had a great stay here - lovely vibe and very private with it's own beach..so relaxing! the charm is the jungle feel and hiking up to the villas...not ideal if you're lazy or have mobility issues.
Close to the beautiful beach (long beach) and close to Tonsay (15min walking). Small bungalow well integrated in the landscape and lot cheaper than the rest of the ressort in the island.
Amazing place! One of the best spots to stay on Phi Phi.15 min walk from the town, still far enough to be quiet and relaxing right in the middle of the forest. I would stay there again.
It was a good hotel whit a great private beach. I recommended for
couples , I didn't see children. Is really a romantic hotel! Food
it's very good and personal attention it's kind.
Location -.close enough to walk to town but beautifully set among trees in quiet, tranquil setting with own beaches . Restaurant menu very reasonaby priced and food tasty.
Very near to the beach (30m) and quiet because its far away from the from the city(15min by feet). Free pick-up and return service between the ferry and the hotel.
the fact that the room was in the three.
the view on the beach
the cool reaggae music at breakfast
the decoration of the bed the first day was really beautiful.
Everything: classy hotel, amazing room, free transportation provided from/to pier, friendly English speaking staff, good breakfast, great location...
Location, very nicely designed restaurant with chill-out music and an excellent view, a small cosy beach right at the footsteps of the restaurant.
The setting was great. Rooms are very nice with great balconies with hammock(s).
Very nice private beach and good food.
Fully equipped bungalow in jungle, close to Long beach. The stuff met us at the pier and transported to hotel by boat.
Good mosquito net. Free pickup and drop off boat for check in and out trips. Animals that are around the grounds.
Красивый вид из номера D1 на Koh Phi Phi Lay. Уединенность. Недалеко от главного пирса. Природный интерьер.
Very nice bangalows and just next to Long beach. Good values for money. Very peaceful and quite.
-great location for relaxing
-friendly stuff
-nicely designed tree huts.
everything. great location, amazing rooms and incredible facilities.
that is A really good hotel, eco friendly. just awesome.
perfect view, private beaches, nature tree houses.
wonderful location, friendly staff, eco style.
Location was excellent.
Location was perfect if you like to be away from the swarms of tourists
engulfing Phi Phi dock every single hour of the day. It's a short
boat ride in to town, and with its own small private beach, it's as
close to paradise as we found on our travels. Staff were nice and
helpful, and our room had an incredible view from the balcony.
The bungalows were beautiful and really relaxing (we stayed at the big ones that are a bit more pricy).
The place has its own private beach and speed boat service
No traffic, really quiet at night. Nice animal and insect sounds during the day and night. Makes you feel one with nature. Authentic look.
Would definitley go again.
Excellent location! Close to town and nightlife (15 min walking). Next door to Long beach, one of the nicest beaches in Phi Phi. Great atmosphere! Semi-private beach in front of their own restaurant, with a very convenient bathroom and shower before taking the hotel's own long tail boat to the pier at 3 PM.
I liked the design and decoration of the rooms. The location was pretty
good. To the long beach it took me around 7 minutes, but you have to
pass a quite dangerous way, even for an athletic person. You get
breakfast and even a testing dinner which is okay.
The price is very good as for the location and the quality. The hotel is far enough from the noise party part of the island but close enough to get to the restaurants, services etc. I liked the room, it was small but cute.
The beach in the front of resort is quiet and you can see small fishes just a few meters away the shore.
The dinner is great, esp.the pad thai and coconut shake were the most delicious we've enjoyed in Thailand.
The bungalows are surrounded by nature and just a few steps from the private beaches. Great views of the sea. The room is a bit small but there's a nice balcony with a hammock in the front.
Good breakfast.
Location: It's far from town, but that's a great advantage,
since everything in town is extremely noisy! It's in a quiet beach,
relaxing. They have free thai food tasting every night.
Location was perfect for us - nice quiet private beaches and away from the town.
The little bungalows are very cute!
The main eating/communal area is lovely and the food is good.
Good location.
Nice accomodation.
Private beach at the reception.
Friendly staff.
Nice food.
You can book trips for snorkeling, ko phi phi leh and monkey beach.
Really nice vibe around the restaurant. The little house was so cute and the sea view was great. Nice breakfast and free service to the pier by checking out.
Bunglows are nice, clean and comfortable.management fixed hot water
after sec prob with it.quite an interesting place with lots of
footpaths roots and all.
Close to beach, however with some rocks. We were transported from
ferry port to the resort. Every evening there was a degustation of
some Thai meals.
The monkeys were a little scary. They ran amuck quite a bit and would wake us up at night. Don't expect to be able to get rid of them as it is their territory as much as it is the people that live there. Don't keep any food in your room or in the bin. Live and let live.
The staff is little ignorance but i see there is really relaxing ambiance and they feel like at holiday :)) The tour desk guy is worse, dont bother to ask there just go to the town there is plenty of tour agency. You need to carry the bags to the bungalow only one staff is helping and he carries only one bag,if you have more you need to carry by yourself and its quite long walk.
Quantity of centipedes was enormous, but it is not hotel fall, it is jungles. But what about ants at the reception, it is really a problem :).
The only downfall I can see about this hotel is that the location is not friendly to older people; it would be very difficult for some to maneuver through the grounds there.
The huts are a bit too dark, as the bamboo has been stained dark too it just needs a bit more lighting inside. There is no air con, so the fans don't work so well so it's warm at night - but it's no big deal as this is what you expect in Thailand. Breakfast not included. FYI it's about 20-25mins walk to town along a forest path. it's a nice walk, and it's lit at night.
The kitchen is not super good but also not bad.The menu is a bit limited
and the service is a bit slow sometimes.
- waiter (long heigt, Indian) was not very kind
- no sunbeds at private beach
- sometimes big rats on the roof but it is even funny ) buy Whiskas and all cats will be with you ).
Sometimes staff is not really friendly. Ways are difficult to walk.
For accomodation called "nature resort" there was lots of rubbish and untidyness on the property. As this rubbish was one of the first things we saw, it was disappointing.
Our room is not clean because previous guest left some sweet things on
the table and attracted ants. We are moved to a super great house. The
service is very good!.
room was a bit small, so I would upgrade to a bigger bungalow with a sea view next time. definitely worth it!.
The reception place is a little bit far away from the rooms. You need to
walk accross some tree houses (but quite interesting). Please don't
bring food to your room at night or you might have the opportunity to
meet some wild friends... As it is viking nature tree house style, no ac
but fan. Need some walk to the Phi phi town.
the standard room has no hot water which is not convinent and not comfortable especial for aisa people.
I was prepared to deal with bugs (mosquitos or such), but I wasn't expecting cockroaches in my room.
Quite a long walk to the town. Going to the rooms is also quite a walk from the reception without adequate directions. Standard rooms are too small for comfort. It would have been better to cut the size of the balcony and make the rooms a bit bigger.
food at the restaurant isn't great (not terrible either) but if you walk less than 5 mins over to the long beach nest door the restaurant there has really great food served on the beach.
We found blats (6 in total) in the two rooms we had. I think they know it, as they did not react when we explain the problem.
N/A.
Mosquitos in the afternoon !.
Cockroaches in our first bungalow, after complaining they gave us a better one for the same price. On the next day we had to move again because the better bungalow the gave us was already booked for the next day.
the cockroach in the bathtub.
Nothing.
Premises aren't all neat and good-looking, there's some kind of construction going on. Though it is minor. The food served (at least what I tried) is quite average.
No aircon rooms available made sleeping at night a bit too hot.
Very difficult road to the Tonsai village.
food average. Service slow but you are in paradise so no rush.
Uncomfortable to families with baby and little child. Rocky territory and little bit dangerous.
It's a 20mins walk from the pier so if u have heavy luggag that could be a problem and u ll need to hire a boat. No signs to find the reception if u arrive on foot.
facilities are not as good as others.
Bob Marley played on repeat continually at the restaurant and bar
downstairs. Great if you love Bob Marley....but not so great if you like
anything else other than Bob Marley.
Check in takes forever. They used 35min to check us in. We decided to stay longer and got a new room. We had to ask 5 times (during a period of 7 hours) to get the right key.
Standard rooms need more space inside! Everything looks a little dirty.
Some rooms where to high up the mountain. Hard for older or weak people
to reach. If your room were on the left hand side of the reception, up
the mountain, the music of Kho Phi Phi Town was rather loud. It makes it
hard to sleep for people who cannot sleep with noise. Mosquitos in some
rooms, not in all - be prepared.
The fan we had in the room wasn't working very well and was too noisy. Would be more easy to communicate if staff spoke better english.
We were in the standerd room(Mango A) . A little long way away from the front desk (7min walk). The facilities seems to be simple. Just a fan. No hot water.
When we arrived at the Phi Phi pier, one hotel guy picked us up. But it was 20 minutes after we standed in the sun at 3:30 pm.
The access to the bungalows could be difficult if you're not fit, and they can be far away from the reception and restaurant. Coming back in the dark can be a challange.
There's no hot water in the economy bungalows.
The staff is not kind, a bit rude. The guy that "sells" tours
is terrible, doesn't even look at you when you ask for info, And the
tours are totally overpriced!! Go to the next beach (long beach) and
hire the tours there!! Wifi only works at reception, and our cottage was
800mts away. The path to the cottage is a hard trek, be aware! There are
other options on the aerea cheaper with better conditions...
1/3 of the resort is a building site! You learn to ignore it and focus on the nice parts but generally phi phi is a rubbish tip which is annoying because you pay a 20B environmental fee to keep it clean!
It's expensive.
No airconditioning, so it was very hot.
Power fell of daily.
No good wifi.
Cookies were eaten by animals inside our room.
Many mosquitoes.
20 minutes walk to the centre of phi phi. Staff didn't speak good english. We had big cockroaches in our room but they didn't really care about that and gave us a spray and thats it... (maybe thats normal in a 'nature resort' ;-) ).
Could use a kettle for rainy days and Internet is blocked in rooms from
6pm till 10pm and will only work at reception at that time.
Everyday about 4-5am we were waken up by cocks (male chickens :) ). Room
was very small and dark inside (weak light). There were mosquito nets,
however with some holes in it. Almost every day there were some short
power outages in the evening.
