Lo que la gente dice
We loved our stay at Valdelana. We stayed a week and wished we could
stay longer. When we booked we didn't realize that Elciego I in the
heart of the Rioja wine region. In addition to our room there is a
communal lounge with complete kitchen, Nespresso, couches, dining table,
plenty of dishes, cutlery, etc. We met several members of the Valdelana
family and just found them to be really special. The staff were just as
helpful and charming. We would definitely stay again. We loved the
little vill. todo comentarios »
Easy access from the main road, excellent location at the entrance of a very cosy old country village/town, especially in a sunny day.
The room was small but comfortable with a very nice bed. The main lounge was very big and shared between all the travellers and it had anything you want from a modern kitchen. The terasse is facing the old church and it was a beatiful view on a very beautiful sunny day.
The staff provided a free tour into their cellery, which is a small museum as well and, at .
We enjoyed our two night stay at Valdelana. Our room had an outside
terrace with a view of the Frank Gehry designed Marquis de Riscal
winery. The room was very comfortable and we also liked having access
the the guest kitchen and lounge area. We were given a free tour of the
museum located in the old cellars under the building. The staff and
owner were very friendly and helpful. The wine we tasted was delicious.
Excellent stay. The owner, his son and the staff were all very nice. They picked me up at the bus stop and took me back when I left, they went an extra mile taking me to visit the viñas and the neighboring historic village of Laguardia. Thanks for everything.
great location in the renovated villa style hotel including a lovely communal living area. Beds were super comfy and bathroom lovely. Welcoming staff were very helpful with tourist tips.
Very friendly, even with late arrival support. The ambience is perfect, the fresh and wine inspiration is perfect for the kind of vacations.
Nice, brand new, comfortable rooms with the look of a 5 star hotel.
Basic breakfast included in the price.
Excellant location. The facilities are new and very comfortable. The staff is great.
Close to other village bars/restaurants so a fair amount of choice on the doorstep.
Staff very friendly and helpful. An interesting and unusual place to stay.
Very friendly People, Fantastic place. The wine was out of this world !.
Friendly relaxing comfortable stay with a knowledgable wine tour.
El Ciego is fantastic. The place and people are wonderful.
Nicely decorated rooms, attentive owners of the hotel.
Excellent facilities, very friendly staff.
Elciego was a nice wee town as a base for the area. The lassie running the vineyard is very enthusiastic and helpful.
The categories you give do not match this - it is good for wine tours.
The room was good value for money, and we had a small sun trap balcony with views of the cathedral and Marques de Riscal, albeit also overlooking a fairly large road.
Fantastic guide tour in their wine cellar and history. Nice personell. Good wines. Close to Marqués de Riscal.
The receptionist was lovely. Friendly and helpful. The shower was nice.
We had not problem with anything at Valdelana, but for some people the
lack of an elevator may be an issue. Also it's a do-it-yourself kind
of place. When the bodega downstairs closes, you have to call somebody
from offsite if you need help. We only know this because lost baggage
caused us to arrive late, but once the call went through we were well
taken care of.
The breakfast was provided by a nearby restaurant where you have to ring the bell to see if it was anybody inside.
You need to press the buzzer to the right of the door when you arrive as
the staff are working in an office upstairs, but the sign asking you to
do this is in Spanish, not English. Elciego is a very quiet town in May,
there seemed to be only one restaurant open.
Floating wood floors made the hallway noisy and the breakfast needs some attention. overcooked and dry crossiants and toast.
The hotel is so new, the owners didn't realize the curtains
are transparent. We used the extra blanket to block it, so that
was no problem.
nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing.
a bit small and thus uncomfortable bathroom.
The rooms are very small - ours to the point that one could hardly walk around the end of the bed. If not for the shared lounge/kitchen, it would have been pretty dire. Our room was also right on the front and the main road is RIGHT below with many loud farm/vineyard vehicles going by - not the usual idea of Agroturismo. And they were doing building work, which was really noisy as well. Also the breakfast (next door) was not much - dry toasts, coffee/tea, juice and a sweet roll.
Probably the smallest room I've ever been in. There wasn't actually enough room to walk around the bottom of the bed to get to the other side of the room, instead we used the balcony doors.
Noise from the AC equipment. The double bed was a little narrow. Breakfast and WIFI availability can be improved.
Hotel location is awful and all rooms face the street. It's right on the main road and it's noisy. The bed was extremely small for 2 people ( tiny double). The breakfast, although included, was terrible ( watery coffee, no fruit, no protein and no service). Don't recommend staying here unless you want inexpensive accomodation.
