  We are very happy to recommend this hotel which is a short walk (5-10 mins) from the centre of Tromso. We stayed in an apartment on the first floor (no. 16 upstairs I think) which was perfectly suited to our needs. The bed was very comfortable and there was sufficient space for two people to spread out all their winter gear. We were a group of 4 friends spending a weekend in there. The first thing you notice is the extremely friendly staff ! there is also free coffee and tea at the reception and you can also make your own waffles during the afternoon. Breakfast was also great. The room was very clean and the location of the hotel is very central.

  Clean, comfortable and friendly. As a nice touch, we arrived way before even standard check out time (let alone check in). However, we were told immediately that the previous people had already left and that reception would do what they could to make the room available asap. We were directed to the lounge and told where we could make a cup of t... lo que la gente dice » ea or coffee (available 24 hours a day); 20 minutes later at most we were told that our room was ready. - Comparatively, ABC Nord hotell is one of the lower priced hotels but the rooms were still comfortable and the large communal Kitchen is a lifesaver for those on a budget - You could easily save a lot by buying fresh fish and salad/vegetables at the grocery store and cooking it yourself, or go all out by cooking a gourmet meal (which I did some people do), or, if you're less ambitious, heat up a frozen pizza or tv dinners in one of their ovens.
