Everything was just perfect! Despite being located near the central
station and in the middle of the city the hotel was very quiet. We have
travelled to a lot of cities in Europe and have never stayed at a hotel

Amsterdam's a walkable city and the Avanti is just right in the Middle of the City a 7 minutes walk from the Central Station! Made life really easy as I could explore and return at anytime without bothering when the tram and the like would close.

Brilliant location, excellent facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Food and drink excellent and very reasonably priced. Comfortable, very clean and well looked after.The Avanti was a pleasure to stay on.
Our hosts went out of their way to provide help, information and warmth to us, and we really couldn't have asked for anything more. The ship is very well kitted out, and anything you might need has already been thought of, and is easy to access. A lovely place to chill, with a homely atmosph

The owners were exceptionally nice and welcoming. The location is great! Only a ten minute walk from Central Station. Lovely breakfast is complimentary, the common area is extremely comfortable and you can sit up on deck and gaze out at the cityscape! Highly recommend Hotelschip Gandalf!!!

We slept on a boat - what else can I say? :)
Very friendly staff (father and daughter), they helped us with all our questions. Of course the rooms are a bit small (and so was the bathroom), but this was to be expected on a boat. We really loved that it was so well located, everything is reachable by foot.
And the prices are pretty cheap, even the
